OK, I waited for the episode to be over before writing this.
1. This storyline was not what was planned by the director and Suku Kochappan, senior man in Radaan. They had planned that Poongodi would marry Saravanan and Karthik would disappear. Everyone will suspect Vani of it, even Rani and Vani would be so hurt and disbelieving that her sister would think that of her. Finally, Gautham and Surya, unable to handle all the accusations against their mother, would start actively looking for Karthik. They find him and discover that he disappeared on purpose, being the naivanjanga karan that he is. He then tells them that the wedding between Pooo and Sara was "naan pota pichai". He also refuses to come and reveal himself. This story was vetoed by the person in charge of the project and Radhika went along with him. However, Radhika discovered through her Facebook and Twitter that Poo-Sara is a popular pair amongst the viewers and regretted that the story went the way it did. She has now requested the team to come out with another bombshell.
2. I did not want Poo to marry Karthik. But even more strongly, I did not want her to marry Sara. He is the biggest culprit of all- arrogant, obnoxious, offensive, greedy and a liar. He did not have the guts or courage to admit that he was in love with Poongodi, and hurt her and insulted her to the extent of pushing her physically out of the house - and he is supposed to be a bright young man. I am really not bothered that Poo did not marry him.
3. Poo-Karthik: Endless possibilities now. In a way the decision of the storyteam was stupid, but it has also opened up issues to ponder. Where is this going? How is Poo going to handle the situation? What about the Anacondas? Just because the story did not go the way many people wanted does not mean the serial is crap. For example, in Minsara Kanavu, I wanted Kajol to end up with Arvindswamy, not Prabhu Deva. It did not make the movie a flop, did it? Same thing with Vinaithandi Varavaiya...the ending was not what many of us wanted. The movie did not flop. I am actually curious where the plot is going.
Waiting for tonight's episode eagerly. 😃
