Part III - Intensity

I don't know who you are truly? I don't even know what you think about me, but every single time I am around you if feel like I am in an entire different world. Whether you are arrogant to me or just end up showing out of nowhere to help, you take my mind away from every trouble that I am in.

She was lost in her thoughts while staring deep in his coffee brown eyes. She never thought she would be satisfied with anything in her life, given that her mother intentionally or unintentionally chose Paakhi every time over her. Happiness seemed like a bubble that would burst anytime when it came too close to her, but then there he was even making her smile with his arrogant attitude. He made her feel like she was special that she was equally important like everyone else and that she had the right to dream of her own along with her parents.

She didn't realize the close proximity they were sharing until their forehead brushed, or was that intended? His face was too close and for a second she longed for his shivering lips, but something clicked in her mind and she backed away. She knew she was going to regret her actions, but for some reason she was scared. All this seemed like a dream and she was scared that it would just vanish in a second. She stared at her feet and quivered as the rain washed over her.

She looked up to meet his gaze when she felt a jacket around her. Why do you care so much and still act cold? She wanted know. She wanted let him out his pain that he was holding back. She wanted to where he had been all these years. She wanted to hold him and scold him for disappearing from her life. He was her only friend apart from her father who treated her like a normal person. Somewhere that wound was still open and anger was still boiling in her because never once he tried to contact her.

He watched her closely and he noticed as she went through the turmoil of emotions while staring at him. He was scared of her questions. He was scared of letting her know that what he had been through and how he missed her. He was dying to let her know that it took his entire world to stop himself from picking up a phone and voice his sadness and isolation to her. He masked his emotions and smirked.

"You lost." She was startled by his whisper. He knew his voice was playing with her emotions. Why is life so complicated? He heaved a sigh. Why couldn't he just take her go far from here? He didn't know whether he was in love or was it just because she was the only person who dared to challenge his feelings, but whatever it was it made him feel alive and happy.

She was about to blurt out that he cheated, but then again she didn't want to start with the emotional roller coaster. The smile on his face toned down her anger and anxious mood. He seemed genuinely happy. She shook her head and stepped towards the car as the cold finally started to seep in her body and making her feel cold.

"You are mine for tomorrow, mark your calendar tomorrow." She carefully dodged the puddle as she felt him follow her closely.

"I have work tomorrow and my boss is too egoistic and demanding and cruel to give me a day off that too with the thirty day challenge." There that sly smirk reappeared on her face as she processed her own words.

"WHAT?" He stopped dead in his tracks with his mouth hanging open. She definitely had the guts to making him feel about himself.

"What?" Her word made it seem like she was innocent and had no idea what was wrong with what she said. "I am not talking about you." The twinkle in her eyes made him forget about everything that rendered his heart with pain. He always wanted to be the reason for that blissful twinkle. "I am talking about my akdoo boss. Just ask him for the day off. Only and if only if he says I can have day off then I am going to go with you tomorrow."

"I am sure your boss is more than fine with you not appearing at his office tomorrow. Raghav Singhania actually wants you to have the time of your life tomorrow and worry about nothing at all." That moment became infinite for her as she felt his arms around her. Their eyes found each other yet again. "He wants you to be happy." There were so many emotions in his last sentence. That one sentence expressed all his other feelings. Only if she knew how he wanted to steal the happiness from world and just give it to her.

The warmth of his arms, the passion in his eyes, the intensity in his words, all of that made her heart beat. Why are you playing with my emotions? She had her own inner conflict and then here he was making it more complex. She felt like as if her heart had gone wild, out of her control because no matter how many times she tried to pull her thoughts away from him, Raghav Singhania always found his way into her thoughts and her heart.
