I've lived in London for nearly my whole life and I was born here, but both sides of my family are from the the Pakistani side of Punjab.
In India a lot of people speak their regional languages such as gujrati, Marathi, Bengali, etc and they also speak Hindi because it's the official language of India.
Similarly, in Pakistan, many people speak their regional languages such as Punjabi, balochi, Sindhi or pashto and they also speak Urdu because it's the official language of Pakistan and it's spoken and understood in pretty much the whole country.
