Not because of the people who are evil
But because of the people who don't do anything about it

Apt words by Albert Einstein

What is this view None of her business

I personally find it very hard to walk away from situations that are supposed to be none of my business but become mine because a terrible injustice is happening right before my eye and I have the choice of either being a mute spectator to something most unjust or I can do something about it I may not save the world but at least I can go to bed with a clear conscience

I am not going to close my ears and eyes when for example I hear distressing sounds of domestic violence /spousal abuse /child abuse happening in my surrounding area nor am I going to carry on with my day if I see drunken man beating his wife to a pulp on a public street It has happened and I am glad I did interfere even though he said it was none of my business to which I replied then don't make her beating a public spectacle if you are that concerned about your privacy I am not going to add what happened for we are digressing

Life rarely imitates soap but in this case the makers have done that job so kudos Truth be told I did not hold out great expectations for the character of Paro Knowing this PH penchant for etching very well all their male leads character in all their shows whilst giving their female leads the short shrift made me quite wary and I may have just quit watching RR if Paro had not started showing growth But then recent events elsewhere must have given a reality check whatever it was all for the best

I am really glad they did not show her cowering down to that age old emotional blackmail of disrespect to the elders the ultimate weapon used when faced with the harsh bitter truth before she could complete fully what she wanted to say from her heart. She was annoyed at the interruption and rightfully so. In this situation she had nothing to lose and everything to gain - for Maithili and in her mind Mohini is not her MIL by any yardstick that she has to respect just someone vindictive with terribly skewered views on motherhood and adoption That awful unimaginable raw wound of adopted children being polluted had to be addressed in completeness by demolishing all the nastiness conjured up by Mohini with her counter argument and her belief that it does work wondrously

Was it uncharacteristic? In retrospect not really for her aunts incredibly generous and motherly act of taking her in as her own daughter was being dirtied with very debasing words that crushed her real hard inside It meant she was contaminated as well which is a terrible blow for someone like her who absolutely adores her aunt perceiving her to be her second mother It hit a very raw and hurtful nerve over her very upbringing and questions her own happy childhood with a foster parent

I am really glad they showed her to be passionate in her belief looking beyond the so called niceties of familial and filial ties She was the voice for the now suddenly voiceless- Maithali literally playing the devil's advocate hoping to bring out an argumentative discussion process that could lead to change in mind Her Mamisa has really brought up a HUMANE person

Anybody with a smidgeon of compassion will speak out when they see someone hell bent on trying to destroy the dream of happiness another without just cause And the kind of humiliating taunts that were volleyed at Maithali only a robot could sit through it without raising a single protest which is what it looked like

Every one just sat or stood mute deaf and silent Her Husband Both Her Father In Laws and Brother In Laws although I am cutting Rudra slack not because he is so hot Doh I am not that shallow but because he is emotionally color blind too screwed up and his only solemn duty is towards his so called Witness His expressions were more like W*F why are there no terrorists to shoot or better yet shoot Mohini Past loophole permanently closed and I am also discounting Sunehri she is a little too young to say anything but she felt her pain and was on the point of crying

I would have said it is nobody's business especially Paro if it had happened within the confines of a private room with Samrat and his family members only and with the door firmly closed
Door ajar I say fair game anybody's business

Take Paro out of the equation and scene yesterday and what we have is your nonsensical Saas Bahu saga with the MIL as always triumphant in the end and the story at a standstill
Leave the story to Rudra and we are still fighting Border terrorists and hunting down Thakur sa Err does that sound like TRP gainers?
This soap will fall flat on its face if it is all about one -either one

This story is not only about Rudra and his pain and Parvathi playing Florence nightingale and being a pretty prop to make him look good all the time. It is also about her own journey of healing growth and finding love and in that voyage both ultimately will come together and discover love trust and happiness with each other and as well as deal with their own intertwined painful past and personal misgivings which ultimately will include the entire family Hope that makes sense I am not good with flowery words too pragmatic

The pivot of the story personally I feel lies in Paro and Rudras Mother and the effect they have on Rudra These are the 2 women in his life who seem to have the maximum influence on him albeit negative at the moment and seem to occupy his daily thought process the most Both are doppelgangers in his mind with one being no better than the other but one fine day he will realize the real truth of his so called runaway Mother through Paro and his suspicions over Paro trustworthiness proven wrong by her actions and in turn Paro will learn the reality of her own childhood tragedy her betrayal of trust by the one she was protecting was in actuality responsible for the loss of her own family and Rudra's true protective nature That is also the story of Rangrasiya- the collective soulful mending of all people associated with Rudra and Paro Now is that not a better love story than just the one

Soaps do not reflect real life We cannot expect fictitious characters to behave based on our own cultural influences behavioral outlook or prejudice for one character nor can we demand the story be twisted to our personal choice with due importance given to the character we love the most only

It all boils down to one unassailable truth this is a work of fiction and the fictional characters written by creatives who at times can piss off viewers with dekh na hai tho dekh comments and so best viewed with a prism of no expectations and let the story unfold as the PH sees it and I have been told ST is a great story teller or so I hope
Past experience has made me even more of a Grinch and I don't view love story's with rose colored glasses anymore that boat sailed a long time back precisely 30th Nov 2012

FLG asks
If Paro were to shut up and behave like Rudra's docile pet dog and Rudra did not utter a single word and carried on as if nothing has happened then how is this love story to move forward for ultimately end of the day it's a soap and Rudra and Paro are but mere characters dependent on a TRP driven revenue based GEC channel

We can also scream till the sun comes up and then more that how this action will ruin this or change that but is that not precisely why they make these fictional characters behave so How else can RR progress were it not for these theatrical moments Drama is the key element scratch that TRP is and it dictates the story nothing else It is supreme everything else relative

An aside who noticed that extra gleam of excitement in Sumer's eyes when Paro retorted back to his mother that she had not finished talking

*slow clap* Very well articulated.

I guess the "none of her business" supporters are perhaps, misled because Paro doesn't come across as a rebel. That bit about walking away with a clean conscience is perfectly true. It is a personal contribution to the very little goodness in the world.
The irony is, if Paro does speak, people find her too OOC. If she doesn't, she becomes a bland character. Even I was taken aback when I heard her tirade on Friday. But it was a welcome surprise. She does have character and substance. Double edged sword, I guess. Some like her shutting up, and people like me don't.

Yes, I noticed Sumer too. He will invest in Paro and get beaten up by Ruddy sometime, I think. I hope.

the thing is Paro was not being rebel she was defending what she felt was morally reprehensible

Well said...in fact very well said!
I wasn't surprised paro would talk in the matter because of the none of her business nature of the topic.
It's something close to her heart and she empathises with Maithili so it's a spontaneous reaction from her!
Her soft entreaties to Mohini were all good...the only out of character part was her raising her voice and saying ...I haven't finished yet! That was definitely out of character...I know she has rebelled against Rudra and she can't be docile and quiet all the time but considering the aunt hasn't exactly been very good to her so far...in fact she is looking to puncture her cover story...for someone like Paro to talk that boldly...that last line...was kind of odd.

I guess it was meant to go with the flow...she was passionately defending maithilis decision and so she wanted to be heard...but what the kakisa said...don't talk in between...was right...and she still went ahead saying I am not finished yet in such a bold voice!

In real life I completely believe respect has nothing to do with keeping quiet for everything in front of elders but here Paro IS like that...so that last dramatic statement was the only thing a bit out of place...in my opinion!

but the thing is this was not a private discussion that she should immediately keep quiet when Mohini asked her so A clear low blow battle for public consumption was going on and she probably felt if she did not say what she had to say then all initiative would be lost so more of someone desperate to not let go of a wonderful chance for Maithali
again my POV
thanks for responding 😊

resva!!
Swati posted n me not coming! not happening!! will be back! :D

Back and read!
Very well said Swati! Finally umm.. i also thought her 'i am not done talking' was a bit harsh for Paro and it was loud.. BUT then i actually went back and watched the episode.. earlier i felt the tone was too strong.. but this time i felt it actually went with the flow..

anyway i completely agree, cz that part she was telling when she was 'herself' called gandagi as she is also an adopted child.. so well.. i think as u said it was all said in the open and it was fair game!

Nicely written! loved reading it!

gosh you added to your reply 😊
I love watching soaps that have 2 strong characters and I like spunky FL I was starting to despair but then the CV started giving me hope over the last few weeks and have been pleasantly surprised with the way Paro is panning out Very happy indeed
Yes she does seem to get slam dunked for either options What folks must realize is this is not a story of one but 2 She is the catalyst for change and Rudras progress is also dependent on her Just as his protection and beliefs will bring about a change in her
again this is not her story or his story but their story along with their family baggage
there are times one wishes one could intervene more but I do know my limits

Fantastic post swathi👏
My only gripe on the friday episode was the treatment of the scene and not the scene itself ...i don't like the cliched face close ups etc and for the first time felt ananya hammed a bit.

Ofcourse paro would react ...the topic of discussion is so close to her own life . I for one have never found her character weak ...she is quiet , mature and sensible but not weak .she is dealing with every situation to the best of her abilities . She has already fought with rudra many times and he know's that . Why else did he catch her wrist 😆 He knew she was itching to intervene ...

As you said , this show is abt their story together along with the various family members . I do hope the cv's continue with the adoption track of samraat and maitheli , with them finally adopting a baby ...it will be lovely to see this along with the main love story.
