Okay, this is going to be a little rant. And it's going to be a little jumbled up. Apologies for that.
A few months ago, I read a post that said 'Shakti Mohan is back on D3', and I was curious why that got about 24k+ likes. So I asked someone. And that someone, turned out to be the biggest shipper of the couple Kriya and Reyaansh. So she spent roughly 5 hours telling me exactly what this couple was about. She made sure I knew all the nuances, all the little tidbits a D3 fan should probably know. She mentioned the wars too.
Then I watched their little dances, the cute se moments, and the IVs and I fell in love. Starting with Shaam bhi Koi, and the way they look at each other, I was hooked onto this adorable love story. A love story that was cut short midway, and now was going to be completed after two whole years. I was happy that I'd get a happy ending. I could relate to the joy the fans had. But since I hadn't been a part of this show before, I couldn't grasp the wars. But okay. I watched KriYaansh, and then came this charming little adorable sa Majnu, Swayam Shekhawat, and I fell super hard for his character. And when I heard that they broke up because Sharon blurted out that she and Swayam could never be together, I didn't want to watch the SwaRon parts because I didn't like how this amazing guy's heart was broken into bits. Don't ask me, I'm crazy like that. And I wanted to stay away from the wars.
A few days ago, one other friend just asked me HOW THE HELL could I not fall for Swayam-Sharon. And she made sure I watched all their scenes, so that I could love them too. And watching the scenes? I have to say, I've connected and fallen hard and fast. Mainly because I connect to their story in a way that's really weird but really simple and personal as well. I connect with the couple and that's it.
Now I want to pose a question. Swayam-Kriya and Sharon-Rey are the best of friends. Why can't one story contain the other couple? Are the wars that big that one can't enjoy both the couples? Why do the fans have to ruin a perfectly adorable relationship. Yes, there are major flaws that I may not understand as I haven't followed the show since the very beginning and now too, in bits and pieces. But are the wars that major that we can't enjoy a proper storyline? I get it. It hurts when some characters get sidelined but that's what happens when there are multiple characters in the show that are proclaimed as leads. It HAPPENS!
I'm not here to argue for or against any side. I'm not asking anyone to join this quest but come on. Is it really necessary to bitch about the opposite characters? Or the actors? That's what they are, actors, and what happens in their personal life, is theirs. What they did, is their issue. I get that some people LOVE the actors, and I love them too, don't get me wrong, but I choose to separate the characters from the actors and see it that way. I respect Palki Malhotra, because I've seen her previous show, Hip Hip Hurray and I'm in love with it. So no comments on her, or Ameeta Ma'am. They're doing their job. Leave them be!
I love KriYaansh, and I love SwaRon, and I love the boy-girl gang waale moments. I'm choosing to cast aside the bigger picture and focusing on the thousands of little moments. Or maybe I'm looking at the bigger picture and casting aside little facts. One thing's clear. I love this Dil, Dosti and the Dance and for me, it shall stay that way.
