This Valentine's Day, your favourite TV couple will finally walk down the aisle, while doomed romances will come to life on the small screen. Asit's all mushy and lovey-dovey all around, why should TV be left behind? In 'Qubool Hai', Asad and Zoya will finally get married after a lot of hurdles,[B] while we will see Dhruv and Saanchi enjoying some cosy moments on their honeymoonin Goa in 'Jee Le Zara'. In 'Kaisa Yeh Ishq Hai', we will see Rajveer organizing a surprise for Simran by taking her out on a romantic getaway. In another show 'Love Dosti Dua', Shiv and Gauri will participate in a dance competition, albeit with different partners, and there will be some stolen romantic moments between the two. Happy tracks add to the viewership While viewers love all the planning and plotting on the shows, they also enjoy watching their favourite couples romancing away from the prying eyes of the vamp. "Love is in the air and people are in a celebratory mood. Incorporating a Valentine's Day track in a TV show adds to the fun and viewership of the show. When everybody is so happy, it makes sense to show positive things happening in the lives of the protagonists. For instance, in Ekk Nayi Pehchaan, the lead characters, Karan and Sakshi, will move a step ahead in their relationship. They will be shown celebrating V-Day and Sakshi will be dressed in an angelic white costume while Karan will be wearing a black suit and the place will have a red background," reveals Kinnari Mehta, producer, Ekk Nayi Pehchaan. Sushma Rajesh, head of programming, Life Ok, echoes similar views and adds, "The idea isto try and capitalize on festivals whether it is Holi, Diwali or Valentine's Day. In Ek Boond Ishq, Mrityunjay will confess to Tara that he's in love with her. It's a coincidence that it will air around V-Day, but we decided to get them married again. When they had earlier gotten married, the circumstances were tough and theydidn't even know each other, but this time, things are going to be different." Easier to include a V-Day track in a comedy showThere are some shows that are planning to air the Valentine's Day track for a week. In Jeannie Aur Juju, the drama around Valentine's Day will continue for a week. "It's easier to incorporate a V-Day track in a comedy show as any sequence in a comic show doesn't last for more than three to four days. Our show, which is a rom-com, will have a Valentine's Day sequence along with some hilarious moments. In the show, Valentine's Day also happens to be Jeannie's birthday, which comes once in 100 years. She wants to celebrate her birthday with Vicky aka her Juju, buthis girlfriend Priya already has plans with him. Also, Mooni will be observing Moonvrat for Vicky and for that she will need him to be by her side. Vicky will once again find himself trapped amid all this," says Rajan Waghdhare, producer of the show. [B]Wedding sequences galore Valentine's Day also provides the creative writers an opportunity to unite the star-crossed lovers. "The culmination of Zoya and Asad's relationship had to be big and we adjusted a few days so that we could make the wedding sequence happen on February 14 in front of the Taj Mahal, which is considered the epitome of love. It is going to be the grandest wedding on Indian television and a lot of preparation has gone into the making of this track. In Jodha Akbar, Akbar will realise his love for Jodha, while in Ek Mutthi Aasmaan, Raghav will start feeling affection for Kalpi. A couple of stories were fast tracked so that we could celebrate the day of love," reveals Ajay Bhalwankar, content head (Hindi GECs), Zeel. Even in other shows like Ye Hai Mohabbatein and Niyati, there will be wedding sequences that will be aired around V-Day. Rajan Shahi, producer, Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya, says that he instructed hiscreative writers around a week back to include a V-Day track. "Our show is about love, so it was important that we have a V-Day track. Even though the track will not air on V-Day, we will have the couples on the show celebrating it. There will also be a comic situation as all the couples will land up at the same restaurant and will try to hide from each other. Also, a middle-aged couple will celebrate V-Day since the husband gets to know about it from his children. "However, it has to fit in the milieu of the show Says Danish Khan, programming head (fiction) of Star Plus, "Each show is set in a certain regional context, so we have to ensure that the sequence blends with the storyline. In a show like Ek Ghar Banaunga, which is set in UP, a V-Day sequence might not fit, but in a show like Meri Bhabhi, which isset in Delhi, it will blend in nicely.
