Born in Mumbai on April 8, Tanaaz has really come a long way. She has made quite a mark in Indian theatre. That is, until Kaho na pyaar hai shot her to international fame! This commerce graduate has been a performer since school! She has dedicated eight years to the industry, working with theatre-greats.

She recently directed a play, Ask what Father Says and is currently performing in "I Do, I Don't". She's also doing a soap, Supriya, on Sub TV.

Apart from acting, she loves painting, stitching, dancing and music.

The opposite sex:
Are a necessity. You're always trying to please them, never taking seriously, their point of view! You want them around, only to show your independence! I can't figure out who's more messed up!

Being Single:
Is great 'coz you don't end up going with the same date everywhere! You get to see new wardrobes.

Marriage:
Is good 'coz you know your taxes will be taken care of! It's the security of knowing there's always a back-up plan!

I believe:
Every day is important! If you don't think so, try missing one!

My winning point:
Is my ability to adapt to situations and to people. People keep changing, if you can adapt to that, you're a winner!

Kaho na pyaar hai:
Has been a really fun experience! I got selected for it at a wedding. We never thought it would be such a super-duper international hit! I feel grateful for the opportunity. And I'm very glad that my choosiness, which made me wait eight years for my debut in Hindi cinema, was well worth it!

To hopeful entrants:
Make sure you come in with the right values. Fame and money are perks; it takes commitment and talent to make it.

Valentine's Day:
Means spending money on buying stuff you hope someone else will buy you, then resigning yourself to the fact that it's not going to happen! And then spending more on dinner outside!

Being a celebrity mom:
Is tough and demanding! There's perpetual guilt!
