Ek din jab savere savere, surmayi se andher ki chaadar hata ke
Ek parbat ke takiye se, sooraj ne sar jo uthaaya, toh dekha
Dil ki vaadi mein chaahat ka mausam hai
Aur yaadon ki daaliyon par
Anginat beete lamhon ki kaliyaan mahekne lagi hain
Ankahi ansuni aarzoo, aadhi soyi huwi aadhi jaagi huwi
Aankhein malte huwe dekhti hai, laher dar laher
Mauj dar mauj, behti huwi zindagi
Jaise har ek pal nayi hai, aur phir bhi wahi, haan, wahi zindagi
mahekne lagi hain "

Wow i love this poem from Veer Zaara movie. Very apt to describe the feelings of blossoming love. Paro's love is definitely like a rising sun in the darkened corners of Rudra's heart... She is his light. His soulmate.

He would lay down his life for her...stand in front of her when a bullet is fired. Drink poisoned water for her and even leap over flames of fire just to get to her. Rudra's heart recognizes that she is not just a mere witness to him any more...but obviously his mind still shies from accepting.

He comes home from a weary day and the first thing he does is scan the room with a magnifying glass looking for her. When his eyes falls on her lovely face, he lights up. Really... thats all it takes to recognize your soulmate. And his soul was recognizing hers..."There she is!" it told him...he was glowing just like her.

He puts her comfort before his...Remembers her pain and sets about to soothe it. This was certainly above and beyond his call of duty...or may be it was the duty of his soul to heal his mate...i dont know...but it was certainly his need to ease her pain...So he does it without questioning his motives...

The above poem beautifully describes his feelings when he is going about comforting her...Its almost as if his soul was speaking to her in an language undefined and undescribed. And she trusted him completely...No one can sleep so soundly in a strange place unless you feel safe and secure. And he represented safety for her. She doesnt even stir when he places her on the bed and tries to soothe her. Sleeping the sleep of an innocent. Paro's soul if not her heart knows she is where she belonged. With him.

Next day their little honeymoon bubble pops when Rudra overhears the man looking for Paro...His fear for her safety makes him break olympic records just so that he can reach her...He alerts her of the danger and when they hear a jeep arriving he once again pulls her behind him...throwing himself in front of any danger that would walk in through those doors. And this time she holds on to him( ref: to the time when he saved her from those men and he pushed her behind him...she caught his jacket. then became conscious ...and let go of him). Not this time.

Her soul has already connected with him. What a story! What a couple! Rudra and Paro are old souls who were searching for each other and now they have connected. They have recognized each other. Now their battle for acceptance begins.

Loved the episode today. It was sheer poetry.

I agree with you.

That scene with the recitation in the background, the song by Sonu Nigm's sweet voice and the wonderful acting by Ashish.. his hesitant hand moves, Paro's innocence.. It was just magical!

Thank you fro the lines.. I loved the poem!

Veer -Zara suits PaRud well.
Army officer and simple village girl. Though paro is silent and zara was little bubbly. 😛
