But Dear sometimes parents fail even though they try their best. My sis has a teenage son. She became uncomfy the way he was staring at SI & aft that she stopped watching the show. Since then it seems he asked her y she is not tuning in. Wat can she do. If she pretends tat everything is fine he ll continue 2 ogle. If she is honest & tells him its not age appropriate she ll pique his curiosity & he ll watch secretly. Some ppl might argue y my sister watched in the 1st place since she knew it was a love story. But they air promos also rt? Similarly the vulgarity shown in the movies is even worse. Western societies ve reached a maturity level where they dont judge a girl by her clothes. But sadly in our patriarchal society girls in skimpy dresses r assumed 2 b easy with loose morals. How do v chg such mindset 😕

So at the end of the day my take is tat TV is a powerful medium so yes as a mother i w'd defo expect the makers & the actors to show some restraint. Having said tat its a democracy & i cant question if some1 does something which is not 2 my liking.

Reg rapes & molestation its a v sensitive topic. I know i may get abused for this but i feel tat clothes do play a role. In the sense a worker goes 2 the movie hall & sees those skimpy dresses in Ram leela or any other movie. He gets sex starved but the actual object of his fantasy is out of his reach & he vents out his psychotic filthy fantasy on the weakest victim available. It c'd b his own wife, daughter or an innocent kid in the neighborhood. Wat do v do with such animals. How many can b kill or imprison. Some dont even get caught. The prob is the taboo attitude towards sex in this country. ppl frown on premarital sex & extramarital affairs. And with the skewed male-female ratio in the north they r not able 2 even find brides.

And no i am not saying all this 2 justify these animals. I am just trying 2 explain their filthy mentality. Again i know this is controversial but u ll find less rape incidents in the more educated & more advanced South India where the male-female ratio is healthy & there is less obsession with sex. I am ashamed 2 think of incidents like the rape of tat tribal girl in WB coz she fell in love with another caste guy. Worse was women in tat village supporting openly the rape on TV 🤢 So unless there is a major upheaval in the society & ppl change their mindset towards women these issues ll persist. All i can say is as mothers lets try to teach these values to our kids & hopefully the future is better for women in this country.

I'm just curious. Did the teenage son have a problem when your sister was ogling Rudra bare chested self?

Sanaya has a very pretty face aside a body. In the end, she is attractive no matter what she wears. She is not as exposed as many of the actual village women of that region. Which I have witnessed myself.

Little baby girls are getting burned and raped in India, are they to be blamed for the way they dress? Its a sickness of the mind and that's what needs to be cleaned up.

A much needed post, Sunara! I totally agree.
Coming to few points, I'm not sure if you know now or not, but Jen's dresses had raised issues in SC forum for quite some time, and points were being raised considering how her sister didn't wear almost-backless cholis like Kumud does. Similarly with Paro. The thing is, these ladies can carry dresses like that which not other people can. And the interview you posted, I was so delighted to see her in that gorgeous dress when that interview was aired. Those dresses might get uncomfortable, but if that persists, she can very well go and voice out her opinion. Sanaya isn't the one to sit and hold back. And the third point? There is not a written code on how much of skin should be covered, it depends on the person's will.

Obviously my sis who has a teenage son is not gng 2 ogle a stranger bef her son. Do u think any mom w'd b THAT STUPID & DUMB? This is a country when in majority of the houses husband & wife dont even hug or kiss bef their kids & u thought my sis ll drool at a hero bef her grown up son. What a stupid quest!!!! u dont know me or my sis so stop making stupid personal comments just coz u r fanatic bt an actress who doesnt even know ur existence. Tis is precisely y i am scared 2 post in tis forum. Any remark is taken as an insult against their fav hero/heroine & trolling happens. And yes my sis did catch him looking at her in a diff manner & dont ask me if she has telescopic vision or a mind reader. Believe me a mom defo knows her kids.

And if u bothered 2 read my post completely i ve clearly mentioned tat its not innocent girls or kids who r 2 b blamed & neither did i blame girls who wear skimpy dresses. All i said is tat sadistic animals do get provoked by this. Ultimately its not the girls who wear skimpy dresses who get affected. They ll zoom in & zoom out in Audi & Ferrari. These animals go scouring the neighborhood 2 maim innocent girls. I ve mentioned clearly tat till mothers instill values in their kids boys & girls this society cant b redeemed. Hope u understood my pt now! Nirbaya dint wear a bikini nor did the tribal girl wear a tank top. Got my pt?

Its v easy 2 write such feminist posts frm the luxury of ur room but the reality tat indian women face everyday in this country is diff. Wen i got married my FIL insulted me 4 wearing skirt (tat too long 1 which comes till leg), sleeveless is not allowed & FYI me & my hubby r IT professionals in the IT capital of India. And for all those folks who asked if this is 2014 or 1814 it IS 2014 & THIS IS INDIA! Its a daily struggle 4 women like me everyday!
