Part 4 The fog and the way forward
Raman and Ishita walked purposefully to the car. Raman got in and turned the head lights on. "If this doesn't get better" he of course meant the fog "would you mind coming with me to the club? We could head to the coffee shop there and talk. It's a lot closer..". " Anywhere is fine" Ishita answered. "Teek hai " he said and they reached the Club.
Raman and Ishta were walking into the club when Raman turned around by chance and saw Shagun's chauffeur letting her off at the entrance. He quickly grabbed Ishita's elbow and steered her into the coffee shop. Ishita was starting to protest he silenced her with a stare and "SHAgun". He made sure they were out of her line of vision and turned to let the waiter know they wanted a corner that was " tucked in". He fished his phone out and put a file shielding his face and walked towards the "tucked in corner". "Ishita tum yahan rhuko kuch order karo I'll make sure the coast is clear and then we will decide what to do" he finished.
Raman walked out luckily he met Mr,Sharma at entrance of the cafe. He shook his hands walked closer to the reception so that he could watch where Shagun was heading. He was relieved to see her walk towards the spa. " she will be there for about 4 hours" he thought with a wry half smile. Then he called Ashok's office asking to speak to Ashok, his secretary told him, he was in the conference room and could not be disturbed for the rest of the day. Raman could leave a message she said. He did not even bother to thank the girl. He quickly waved Mr.Sharma away and briskly walked back to the table.
He was completely un-prepared for what he saw. Ishita had taken out all her jewelry that her mother insisted she wear and put it on little plate on the table, she had kicked her slippers off, was working her way through a bunch of coloured papers, nipping and folding them to submission. Her eyes were dancing as she was working with her fingers, a bright smile on her lips and she seemed to be talking breathlessly into her blue tooth. When he reached the table she still looked at him with the same open smile, pouted her lips to gesture a "please" and asked him to give two minutes she pointed to her watch. Raman nodded and pulled out arm chair for himself. He continued to watch her from across the table as she moved on with whatever it was that she was making with whoever. " Bye my darling" she said as she kissed into her phone a few times and held the by now ready for Raman to see - paper crane. The bewildered man was staring alright but at the eyes of the crane maker not at the crane.

"Has Shagun left?" she asked Raman worriedly suddenly remembering where she was. "Humm ...she at the Spa here..it should be ok for us to finish up and then head home" he replied. Ishita's phone came alive almost on cue.." Hi Shagun"she said while Raman looked at her anxiously. " I'm at the market shopping for fish..do you know what her favourite fish is?? Shagun lied. "Sorry main vegetarian hoon...maine usko khabi fish nahi kilaya hai"she said staring at the crane. " Jhooti" Ishita thought before she tossed her phone.
Shangun itna jhoot kyon bolti hai?? she wondered.
Raman asked her if she finished her coffee and wanted anything more. Seeing Shagun there had bothered him a lot he wanted to leave the place before something else happened. " Na ...jaane ka maan kar raha hai??" she asked him. "Haan kahi aur chalte hain " he stood up getting ready to draw her chair back. "Han mujhe bee yahan teek nahi lagta hai..par rukho rukho mujhe ye saab phenne tho dho; my mom will be mad seeing me without all this." He smirked at the thought of Mrs Iyer. " Tumhe gehne pasand nahi hai I thought women loved them." he said. "
"Shagun is not everywoman Mr.Bhalla. We are all different and I'm way too different ...main kisse se jhoot nahi bolti." she said while Raman got back to staring at her. This time she stared at him too while they were walking back to the car and she asked him " Raman what is Ruhi's favourite fish..Shagun was..." "Ruhi fish nahi ka sakti hai..she is allergic to fish." He snapped.
In the car they decided to go back to her clinic. We can sit in the store and chat and I can always get back myself. She concluded.
