I enjoy playing Deepika - Pooja

Pooja Kanwal very viciously shows her negative side in Sanskaar as Deepika but in real life she is completely opposite. Mother of a child, Pooja plays her negative character effectively and confesses that she enjoys the grey shades. "I'm actually enjoying playing Deepika in Sanskaar. I always wanted to play such a character and the fact that Deepika has split personality I get to do both sides. As a character even Deepika doesn't know that she can be so negative and conniving. There are so many shades to this role and as an actor I think it's a lifetime opportunity."
When you play a vamp the image remains with you for quite a long time and people around you start seeing you in the same manner. But Pooja had a different experience. "Since in real life I'm completely opposite to Deepika, so for my friends and relatives to them it has come as a shock. They're surprised to see me in a vicious avatar and don't believe that I can be negative too. But overall I have received accolades for my performance and I'm happy with that."

On-screen her character is against main protagonist Dhara, played by Tejaswi Prakash, but off-screen they share a great rapport. Commenting on her equation with her co-star Pooja said, "I think Tejaswi is a fabulous actor and we both are really good friends. I really admire the fact that even though she's new in the industry she does her work with so much confidence. She understands the basic nuances of her character and does it with such ease. I love watching her play her part."

But with Jay Soni Pooja has an old connection. "I have worked with Jay previously and its good to have a familiar face in the cast."
