I know I feel that her family failed to protect her BUT with rape the blame lies squarely on the rapist, on raunak for even thinking of such a depraved act.

Whatever Maansi did is nothing, she's the victim.
The act of forceful sex against someone is the most horrific thing a person can do to someone else.
We go through life asking 'what if...' But in Mansi's sake its safe to say we shouldn't concentrate on what she DIDN'T do but we should concentrate on what raunak DID.

But that's my own personal opinion. I understand parts of what you're trying to say but Maansi is very innocent. She thinks first about her family and how things would affect them. And no one would have been able to predict that raunak would leave his own suhaagraat and call Maansi up to the terrace of her own house. It doesn't make sense. If you were called up to a part of your own house, you'd think it's a family member, definetly not a man who just got married and is supposed to be at his own suhaagraat!
How many times have you walked to a part of your own home without taking someone along? I'm guessing most people do that all the time. I know I don't take anyone, in my own house I go wherever I like whenever I want, because I feel safe.
Not forgetting that raunak sent a message from Ankita's phone to mansi. So mansi would have believed that Ankita is giving her an instruction to come upstairs. Who in gods name would have thought that raunak could ever have gotten hold of Ankita's phone.
I whatsapp my cousins all the time and I genuinely think and know it's them, I wouldn't think it's someone else at all.

What I found most horrific was kinnari taking raunak along for that bangle ceremony and then telling mansi that she knows what happened. Her expression was cold, uncaring and this is a woman talking to another woman!

The other thing which I felt was beyond sick was how she says to Maansi that she does not know who to feel sorry for, Maansi for getting raped or herself for marrying a jerk.

For her it's always 'me me me'. Even when raunak told her about the rape, she does not think about the well being of the other woman! Her first thought is about her own reputation!

I have said in my thread ambolove that there r legal punishments for men like Raunaq , what punishments r there for the women like Kinnary who r a blot on womanhood ? None . Kinnary falls in the category of mother in laws who sent their timid child bride bahus to their husbands for waaris of the house coz their own sons were dysfunctional in some way . Kinnary is a horrific reality , a classic example of how the love for status and keeping up the mask in moneyed society kills humanity .

I know. I'm getting tired of these storylines.

Regardless of Mansi's stupidity as to how she handled Runak's harassment and her silence behind it, she did not cause the rape. The rape would have happened one day in the future...Runak was not going to stop harnessing Mansi...what happened was the rape just happened earlier than predicted. The family could protect her by keeping her away from him...but there was always going to be the chance that he would encounter her or try to do something to her...rapists and harassers get away with these behaviors until someone confronts them.
