CHAPTER 21'Sir,Sir..'Rathore came back to his senses when Shree called him loudly.He looked around surprised and blinked his eyes several times to get himself out of the dream,or 'the harsh reality'.
Next morning Shree and Chotu came to the hospital at the earliest hours to find Rathore sitting on the bench with stooping shoulders lost in thought while Arjun stood leaning on the wall.
Both of them came back to their present when chotu and shree came running to them.
'Sir ayesha kaisi hai?'Chotu asked Arjun,
Arjun nodded his head and looked towards rathore,who too looked up towards the closed door of the ICU.
They waited there until doctors checked and confirmed that everything is fine.Chotu remained there to check on Ayesha,who was still unconcious and others went back.Arjun and Rathore freshened and met at the breakfast table.They were shaken from the last night incidents and it took them sometime to gather the facts.
Shree helped them and summarised the whole thing.Anurag had given Vinod the contract of killing Ayesha which he had in turn given to some one they saw in the CCTV footage.But the problem arise when Ayesha didnt die and was hospitalised.
Anurag might have thought ETF would trace vinod so he put the garage in fire and tried to kill him.He too didnt die but eventually the burnt was high and he died after giving them the name 'Anurag.'
Now in the night Ayesha was again attacked but somehow the ward boy saw it and she was saved.
Arjun stood up with his cup of tea while shree finished speaking.
'vinod ka post mortem report?'
'Dixit sir layenge,abhi tak to wo aye nehi,'
'shree vinod ke mobile se kuch mila?'
'nehi sir,phone kharab ho chuka hai,i need to repair it first aur sim card se call records delete kar
diye gaye hai,i need to check with the operator,'
Arjun nodded and sat down spinning his pen between his fingers.
Rathore was silent all this while suddenly he got up,
'rawte hume wo casino mein dekhna chahiye,waha kuch clues zaroor milenge,lets go'
Arjun,shree and rathore started towards the casino.On the way dixit called and informed about the post mortem report.Vinod has hit at the back of his head before the fire was set.The fire was set by sprinkling petrol all over the place.Dixit asked about Ayesha and came to know she is fine.
'Sir,ab kiya karenge?'Dixit asked Arjun,
'try to trace the person we saw in the CCTV footage of the airport parking,aur anurag ke bare mein kuch pata chala?'
'nehi mein koshish karta hu'Dixit disconnected the call.
Arjun and Rathore went to the casino room to investigate.They entered the sealed area and put on their gloves.The room was kept exactly as it was left on the day Rathore was captured.
They searched around for clues.The forensic team here had done there work but Arjun felt there might be something useful found here.The room was sealed and the things kept on the places where they were before.
The chair Sameer was kept was right at the same place.Dust had covered some area while some were still clean.Forensic team has got a lot number of finger prints of which a few belongs to Sushma,indicating her presence.Arjun looked around the place keenly.
At an end of the room were a few packed boxes of imported wine.Some empty cartiledges at the other end.Mainly the room was used as storage by the casino.A few marks of struggle could be seen on the wall beside the door,some nail marks and some scraches.
Arjun looked around the chair but there was nothing found except a thick layer of dust all around the chair.
Rathore was looking towards the corner of the room and found a few papers,some bills,some lists,all useless papers.He was looking through the dust when he found a chain,most probably Sushma's chain.It had hidden itself by attaching at the corner of a big empty packing case.He took a look at it closely and saw the golden color of the chain had faded a lot.She might be wearing it for a long time.Arjun saw Rathore standing with the chain lost in thoughts so he went close.
'kiya mila Rathore?'
'sushma ka chain,'Rathore said showing him,
'tumhe kaise pata?'Arjun took the chain from him and took a close look,
'sure nehi hu,per lagta hai i had held it i my hand when i was kissing her,shayad tab hi toot gaya.'Rathore said hiding his embarrasement,
'Rathore mujhe tum thik se batao kaise kaha kiya hua tha?'
'Rawte,'Rathore glared at him,but then his calm features and his own helplessness to find clues calmed him down,
'Mein waha bahar khara tha.yaha,'rathore walked out to the casino where he had been standing when sushma held him from the back,
'achanak kisine mera hath pakra aur mujhe yaha ghasitke leke aya.Is room ke bahar.Mein use churane wala tha ki sushma started kissing me and i was pushed inside this room.'
'uske baad?'Arjun asked inspecting the area intently,
'uske baad kiya rawte?'rathore asked irritated,
'i was lost and I gave in.I had felt a punchy flavour in my mouth,she might have inserted something while kissing me,'
'yaha is wall pe kiss kar rahe the?'arjun asked showing the scraches,
Rathore nodded.
'tabhi shayad wo chain mere hath se toot gaya,'
'Aur uske kapre bhi,'Arjun added,sitting down on the ground to pick up something,
'ye dekho,buttons kisi jacket ka hai,''nehi buttons nehi,balki mere shirt ke buttons toot gaye the,ek minute uske top mein koi button tha hi nehi,'
'matlab ye kisi aur ka hai,kisi jacket ka button,yahi yaha ek aadmi bhi aya tha,'
'Shayad mujhe yaad nehi,'Arjun started opening the packed boxesand inspected them.They had imported wine bottles,quite expensive ones.He looked around but thing important could be found.Arjun was about to go when he noticed the stamp on the boxes.The packing date was given the earlier day,
'Rathore ye boxes yaha tha us din?'
'yaad nehi kiyu?'
'ye package to kal hua hai,fir ye us din se yaha kaise ho sakta hai?'
Rathore went forward and checked again.Yes it was true.There were 7 boxes.2 of which were dated long back,while the rest of the five were kept just the earlier day.
'per ye to sealed hai,fir manager aise kaise,let me speak to him,'
Rathore called the manager and he confirmed that he had not come to the casino after it was sealed,
'to ye kiska kam hai?nakli evidences,'
Arjun and Rathore walked out to the washroom where the dead body was found.According to the forensics the man was dead due to heavy blood loss,caused by a heavy blow at his head.They looked around the place but nothing suspicious was found.The weapon with which he was hit was recovered by the team,it a broken water pipe.
Arjun and Rathore walked over to the CCTV room and checked the room.The camera's broken and thus they stopped working.Nothing more important found inside the room.
They headed back to their hotel,but before that planned to visit ayesha.They reached the hospital and reached ayesha's cabin.
Chotu was sitting inside eating a banana and speaking to Ayesha.Ayesha was fine and was smiling at him.They went inside and Chotu stood up.
'kaisi ho ayesha?'Rathore started and sat down on the stool,
'mein thik hu sir,sir wo aadmi,'
'wo pakra nehi gaya,but jaldi pakar lenge,'
Ayesha looked at Arjun and found him looking at her intently.
'kiya hua Sir?'she asked arjun,
'nehi tum chain pehenti thi ayesha?'
'chain?'she said touching her neck,
'haan,wo kho gaya?'she said sadly,
Rathore was first confused and then understood why Arjun asked her.Rathore took out the chain from his pocket,kept in the evidence packet and held out,
'kiya ye hai ayesha?'
'haan yahi,meri mummy ka hai,mein to bhool hi gayi thi,kaha mila apko?'
'us din shayad casino mein gir gaya tha,aur logo ke pair se kone mein chala gaya,hum dekh nehi paye,'
'thank you so much sir,mein apne room mein dhoondi thi,iska lock loose ho gaya tha,mujhe laga meine kho diya,thank you sir,'
'its ok ayesha,ye filhal mere pass hai,tum wapas ake le lena,okay?'
Ayesha nodded and everyone took their leave.Rathore asked Chotu to go back he would stay the night but Chotu rejected and stayed with Ayesha.
They came out of the hospital,it was raining and the weather was getting worse,with stormy winds and loud thunder bolts.
They were heading back to hotel when Shree called them,
'Sir,aplog kaha hai?Sir ek bohot important link mila hai,jaldi ayiye,'
'kiya hai shree,'
'Sir ap jaldi ayiye,'They drove fast and reached the hotel and directly went to shree's room.Shree was engrossed in his laptop as usual.
'kiya hai,shree aisa kiya mila hai?'
'Sir,sakshi ne kuch mail bheja hai,ye dekhiye,'
Shree opened the link.It was someone's picture.It took sometime for the image to load completely.Rathore and Arjun sat beside Shree and looked at the monitor.
The image gradually came up.It was a wedding picture,
Finally the image came up properly,
it was the wedding picture of Sushma and Dixit..
