Deepika cites 3 reasons for rejecting Sooraj Barjatya

Mumbai: Sooraj Bharjataya who was very eager to sign the current industry darling, and much sought after actress, Deepika Padukone, has revealed to us that the 600crore actress has unfortunately declined his offer to star opposite the nation's superstar bhai, Salman Khan.
Sources close to Deepika have disclosed that the actress was initially quite keen to be part of the project, however during a script narration session held at Deepika's residence, she discovered to her surprise that her role involved being Salman's love interest. We contacted Deepika's manager and enquired as to why she was hesitant being Salman's love interest?, afterall, who wouldn't cherish the opportunity to bag such a pivotal role with a strong well written character?, Deepaklal however rubbished the rumours and issued a formal statement citing lack of dates.
However, one of her close confidant soon leaked the real reason to us, and they are threefolds. Apparently, the reason why Deepika was hesitating to accept the film is that she wasn't expecting to play the herione to Salman. Before the script narration, Deepika had imagined the film to be something along the lines of an Indian version of Planet of the Apes, where she would play a scientist or a doctor who would look after one of apes played by Salman. Secondly, she was concerned that if she did this film, she would literally have to carry the whole film on her shoulders which would mean completely overshadowing and dwarfing Salman (no pun intended) whose waning starpower has resulted in a super disaster known as Jai Ho. Which leads us the the final reason, the pathetic dismal box-office performance of Jai Ho further cemented and clenched her decision to reject the film outright.
We at Mid-Afternoon are sorry to disappoint fans who were hoping to have these two share the screen. Here's hoping that Sooraj's next production would be Planet of the Bandars.
