"Nice na! When you'll see her, you'll find her to be really beautiful.. I can't even believe I and she are in same college now"

Khushi - for some unknown reason - didn't feel comfortable while Arnav told her this. Her smile had faded away. She was lost in her own thoughts. Something disturbed her, very much. A lump had formed in her throat. And the strangest thing was that she was completely unaware of the reason!

Arnav had to click his fingers in front of her eyes to get her out of her dreamy state.

"Khushi?" he irritatedly spoke.

"Ha..haan?" she stammered.

"Where are you lost?"

"No nothing.. I think we are very late for our class."

"Yeah we should run!"

"But you didn't tell me that how Alia looks" Arnav asked while they strode towards the classroom.

"Yeah. She looks beautiful" Khushi replied, still feeling uncomfortable.

"Right na! She is indeed very beautiful" Arnav said, in a dreamy tone.

They reached the classroom, and saw the teacher just entering the room. They both hurriedly went and occupied a vacant seat.

The class went on quiet, as the teacher explained them a new lesson.

"Guys. You all have food, I'll just be back in 10-15 minutes" Khushi said, as she got up from the chair in the canteen,"I have to get a book from the library"

"Yaar.. Will you issue the whole library? You already have issued three books last week" Payal commented.

"Yaar.. That's why I'm going to the library.. I'll return those books and then only I can issue one more book" Khushi explained.

"Khushi.. You can go, but come back soon" Aakash said, stuffing food in his mouth.

"I will"

Once Khushi got into the library, she quickly went up to the librarian and returned the issued books first; and then went to the section from where she had to get the new book.

As soon as she reached that section, she saw Alia standing there.

'What's so special in her? And what makes her so-called Beautiful?' she thought, eyeing her from top to bottom, standing at a considerable distance from her.

"Hi! I guess you are Khushi. Right?" Alia came and stood in front, taking forward her hand.

"Right. But how do you know?"

"Actually I met Juliet mam this morning. She told that you are her favourite student. Quite impressive!" she beamed.

"Thanks. You are a new student?" Khushi asked, pretending to be completely unaware of her identity.

"Yeah I am. Just joined the college today"

"Oh okay. You seem to be really studious!" Khushi said, trying hard to control her frustration, which was again due to an unknown reason.

"What?"

"Otherwise who would be searching for books in the library on the first day of the college" Khushi replied in a sarcastic tone. She knew very well that what she was doing or saying was wrong, but the fact that Arnav, her best friend, liked the girl standing in front of her, made her go insane.

"You have a good sense of humour!" Alia took her statement in a funny manner,"By the way, I was just here for our course-books"

"Oh. Need any help?" Khushi asked her, her courteous behaviour showing up.

"Thanks. But I have already taken them all. But I want to ask one thing."

''Ya sure. Ask"

"Where do we find the time-table of our daily classes?"

"You can ask Juliet mam for it. I think she would have one extra copy of the time-table"

"Thank you so much. It was nice to meet you" Alia said and turned to leave.

"Hey hey wait! You will just go like that?" Khushi stopped her.

"What?"

"I mean.. What is your name?" Khushi asked, knowing very well of her name.

Alia flashed a beautiful smile at Khushi, "Alia"

"That's a nice name!" Khushi said, and she shook her hand with hers.

"Thank you, Khushi!" Alia thanked her, cutely.

Khushi again felt extremely uncomfortable. 'She is so sweet.. Arnav likes her.. He is going to propose her very soon.. So what if he's my best friend.. That can't stop him from making girlfriends.. Should I ask Alia about Arnav?.. If she remembers him.. But may be Arnav does not like it.. No I'll not ask her.. Let Arnav only talk with her.. But still I can ask her whether she likes anyone or not.. Yes.. This would be right..' Khushi thought.

"Hey Alia! May I ask you a question?"

"Of course Khushi. Ask"

"Do you have a boyfriend? Or do you like someone?"

"No no. Yeah I liked a guy when I was in 11th standard, but I had never been committed to someone. And now I am new in this college, so I haven't seen guys here much" Alia said, trying to be as casual as possible.

"Oh.. I think you have that charm to attract boys!" Khushi said, and both the girls giggled, only to be stopped by a deadly glare of the librarian pointing towards a board saying - KEEP SILENCE.

Khushi waved at Alia as she went out of the library and went back to search for her own book.

'I liked a guy when I was in 11th standard' Alia's words reverberated in Khushi's mind again and again. 'I think she was talking about Arnav only' Khushi thought, as she walked towards the canteen.

"What took you so long yaar?" Arnav asked her.

"Nothing yaar. Actually I met a new girl there, so I had to help her out a bit" Khushi said, avoiding any conversation with Arnav, relating to Alia.

"Oh" Arnav said, finding Khushi deep in thoughts,"What's wrong yaar? You seem to be very disturbed''

"Arnav.. I.. Nothing! I'm not hungry.. " Khushi lied and left the canteen, leaving Arnav, Payal and Aakash confused as well as shocked.

"Khushi" they called out, but she had already gone.

Khushi sat in a garden, her hands tightly clutching the sides of the bench.

She didn't knew what was happening to her. She was happy that Arnav has got the girl he had a crush on. Then why doesn't she want to express her happiness? She was afraid of losing a friend. She was possessive about their friendship. She knew that she would never get a better best friend than Arnav! But she wants to see him happy.

'You are being over-protective about Arnav' her heart shouted.

'Just chill. Let Arnav do whatever he wants to. Nothing can break apart you friendship' her mind calmly said.

'You are jealous because of Alia' her heart shouted again.

"I'M NOT JEALOUS!" she practically shouted, and thankfully she was sitting in a secluded corner of the garden, so no one noticed her.

"He is my best-friend and HIS happiness means my happiness" she said and smiled looking towards the sky.

No matter how much turmoil is going in Khushi's mind, but we all know that it is of course Jealousy...

That's it. I hope it was good. I do not want to rush things. Khushi already has some feelings of jealousy for Arnav, but it'll soon vanish off. They are best friends, yaar! Even if they feel that they are falling for each other, they will not admit it, at least not now.

And caution! Don't love Alia too much.. She is going to turn wild😆!
