She's done some work before this, so she's not really a newcomer. I think she still needs a little improvement as in some scenes, like the one where Zain was slapped by his father, her facial expression didn't change, and she just stood there looking a bit lost. That's the only fault I find in her acting, that when she's not doing a speaking role in a scene, she seems a bit zoned out, but other than that she's been great, and I think she will in time become one of the best actresses on Indian tv.
Harshad was a model before this, well that's what I read, so he is a newcomer. I have to say that his acting has been great, but his character has been doing the same things up till now, but now we're getting to see some versatility as Zain's character is angry, feels betrayed, and is more serious, and I'm happy to say that I think Harshad is doing great with it.
They are definitely doing an amazing job.
I think maybe the director meant they are newcomers on Indian television.
