It is horrid, horrendous, criminal, gut-wrenching to find someone so vicious, vile, venomous, and without a single drop of mercy.
Is one's ambition, aspiration so important that one can destroy all the innate humanity within them? Or is it that some people are born innately evil and inhuman and that they don't need a cause celebre to turn them into monsters. Is that how the word "evil incarnate" originates?
What is it that makes Rudra Pratap do such heinous acts? Is it just that he does not have means for his self expression? That is a whole lot of bull and no one is taking the bluff, as the characterization goes.
There seems to be no iota of remorse or regret that one can find in the mental makeup of Rudra Pratap/Kalavathi despite some indications as to some past history of slurs or abuse as to his self-expression as a woman caught in a male body, or so, the sketch goes. But those reasons, those justifications do not seem to be quite enough to justify his cruelty and his joy at wilful acts of brutality, as we see in the Kaka murder. Rudra Pratap/Kalavathi somehow seems to be relishing the thought as well as acts of violence and inhumanity. He/she seems to be deriving pleasure (sadistic) out of torturing others and giving pain to others.
It also seems like Rudra Pratap/Kalavathi wants to play at being god and seems to think that he/she has the right to decide on people, as to whether they live or die, and if they live, they live by his/her own rules.
Could it be possible that for the first time in Indian Television, we are seeing an utterly reprehensible character that has no moral compass or any sense or right or wrong except for the fulfilment of their goals and agendas, and everyone that comes in the way is merely a thorn that can be uprooted.
There seems to be no grey area and it all seems to be black where the character of Rudra Pratap/Kalavathi goes. Is it possible that this character can ever have redemption? Is it possible that this character can love anyone as much to willingly sacrifice himself/herself at the altar for someone's happiness? is Rudra Pratap/Kalavathi the anti-thesis to the characterization of Mrityunjay, who stands for the happiness of others and who is willingly to go to any extent for his loved ones?
Have your say.
