Now this is why he is called Dabangg. Days after his film Jai Ho hit theatres, actor Salman Khan said he would take blame on his head if it doesn't hit the bull's eye.

Directed by Salman's brother Sohail, the movie, which also stars newcomer Daisy Shah along with Tabu and Danny Denzongpa, is a political thriller with a heavy dose of action sequences featuring Salman.

"If, god forbid, the film doesn't pick up from Monday, I'll take the blame on me," Salman told Headlines Today.

The actor had admitted that the movie has not fared well at the box office as compared to his earlier flicks ("Meri picchle filmo ke hisab se collection thoda kam hai").

Salman said it's the hero of the movie, who fails. "If the collections are not good, it's my fault that I failed to bring my fans inside theatres. While the "mouth publicity is good and response is phenomenal", the actor said, he was unable to figure out why the film has not struck a chord with his fans. "Maybe because of the festive week or my fans don't have the money to go to the theater," he said.

Salman also conceded that even the music of the film has failed to generate any interest. "We thought music will pick up, but only two songs did good," he said, adding, with the songs of Yaariyan a rage with youth, Jai Ho didn't cut much ice.

Asserting that collections don't bother "me too much", Salman said trade pundits predicted more and the collections have gone lesser. However, he added, "My mission is accomplished. People are getting the message of the film. And I am happy with the product."

Despite Dabangg Khan and aplenty of masala, Jai Ho could manage to garner barely over Rs.17 crore on its opening day at the domestic box office. Trade experts say in comparison to the star's previous films, this won't create any fireworks in terms of records.

Reportedly made on a budget of Rs.75 crore, Jai Ho hit about 4,500 screens in India. It collected Rs.17.55 crore in the country on Friday, according to an official statement.

"As per my knowledge, it's less that Rs.17 crore. The figure is quite low," IANS quoted Rajesh Thadani from Multimedia Combines as saying.

"When Ek Tha Tiger released in 2012, it collected around Rs.30 crore on its opening day. It's Republic Day today (Sunday), so the figures will be better. But it is expected to earn maximum Rs.25 crore," he added.

Salman's super hits Wanted, Dabangg, Dabangg 2 and Ek Tha Tiger were all action-packed dramas and Jai Ho too belongs to the same category.

Puneet Sahay of Spice Cinemas says audiences are not so excited about the film because of the same genre.

"On Friday, the occupancy was just 40 per cent and Saturday was 50 per cent. Sunday's morning shows were around 80 per cent. Going by the performance, Jai Ho will probably touch Rs.100 crore in a week, but not in the first three days of its release. Some people from the audience said that it's repetitive. People are probably fed up of the fact that he is continuously doing action movies," said Sahay.

Film trade analyst Tarn Adarsh tweeted on Sunday, "Admire and appreciate the positivity and confidence that @BeingSalmanKhan has. When we spoke this morning, he was v optimistic about #JaiHo."

So should he
He gets 100% credit for his success, then he deserves 100% blame for his failure as well

Some of his fans are planning to spend their money over and over again and watch Jai Ho repeatedly in the theater. No kidding, I read that on several threads. And here Salman is claiming they got no money. 😆 😆

Yes blame the poor fans who has been spending their hard earned money on your dumb movies for years getting nothing in return. No entertainment, nothing, only their little bit intelligence is going down more n more after watching your lame movies. They are becoming dumb, dumber, dumbest while you laugh all the way to bank.

The grand experiment of trying to fool the public by putting up a shoddy remake with poor production values, shabby costars and dismal music, all under the guise of a "Salman" movie failed. Salman and his leeching brothers should not take the audience for granted.

Maybe his message(which was repeated atleast 150times) backfired. One saw the movie and he asked three people not to watch it ,in-turn save the hard earned money.
