RR would lose it's essence. They promoted it as a passionate and bold love story. If they change it midway, it will hurt them more because they will lose their core audience as well. If they have faith in their script, they should stick to it. When the story is strong and gripping enough, the ratings will come naturally. This is an experimental show, in terms of the way it is being presented with the action, raw sensuality and larger than life feel...it reminds me more of a Ram Leela than a DABH...which is new for TV audiences so it is taking a bit longer to pick up.
And we never know what works with the TV audiences. They have rejected amazing shows like 24 so its not like they are high on quality or anything...who knows what makes them tune into a show. One thing I know for sure is that I don't want RR to be like one of the TRP-ruling saas bahu shows. I prefer watching it with my friends, not my family lol.
In fact, I think the ratings will improve once they really focus on the leads and their chemistry...as in, when they focus on showing us the passionate love story they promised. From what I've seen, their chemistry is the one thing everyone has unanimously liked.
