the thought of getting pampered was childish

you are all the things i dreamed of
but was afraid to confess about

past

it was a new day a new morning and the birds chirped merrily while the sun shone high and bright in the sky and the clouds flitted across the sky being played at by the slow steady wind that blew. it all looked so beautiful, serene, but unlike nature mr handa neither felt happy nor did his face reflect serene rather, hisface looked grim, with linescriss crossing the hard terrain , he had aged all of a sudden that too because of his daughter! his daughter! he thought, bitterness seeping across and into his veins, his beloved daughter had decided to stay away from home all night, his lovely princess was dating a pauper, his angel faced daughter had decided to defy him! he banged his fists on the table. he actually couldn't believe his daughter. mentally he was in the process of giving her a dressing down because his beloved, sweet, angelic, daughter had deprived him of her physical presence. it was a little late after 10 yet she was still not home to explain herself and all because of the pauper! mr handa fumed.

when she first woke up, rubbing her eyes open to the not so familiar surroundings, she looked around only find herself naked with a sheet around her while she felt a strange pain between her legs and then it all dawned on her. she was at maan's and immediately she looked to her side where she found the bed empty, maan was gone. she stared at the bed in silence.

'do you regret yesterday night?" a deep baritone voice brought her out of her reverie, his hair was still damp from the shower while a towel carelessly slung around his neck partially hiding his wet torso, his jeans hung low around his waist when he came and sat on the edge of the bed taking geet's hand in his. he could feel her hand to be exceptionally cold and her fingers trembled.

"geet i know, given the kind of girl you are and the sheltered and protective upbringing that you have had, it must be difficult. but trust me, i love you and what we did was our love and there's nothing wrong in it unless you think it is... he never got a chance to finish when geet said

"i dont regret anything regarding you and maan i can trust you with my life, you are the best that could have happened to me and i thank almighty ecah day to make you come into my life. and maan our love doesn't require any certificate of right and wrong."
with that geet leaned on him and pecked him on his lips. they smiled into each other.

"i love you" maan whispered against her cheek
"i know" geet replied and with that they broke into peels of laughter!

present

"she is just like you, tamanna" maan whispered while a slow grin tugged at the corners of his lips.

"yes tamanna, our tamanna" geet said, "but you are wrong that she is like me, her hair and complexion might resemble mine, but she has got your eyes, deep, dark chocolate brown eyes that can melt iron away and her dark brows when she furrows them and gives that severe expression whenever she is not happy about something, she is a replica of you. she hates brocolli just like you and when she took her first steps as a toddler she put her left foot forward first infact she writes with her left hand too, isn't that amazing, she is just like you..."

"yes but i failed her as a father, while it is all so endearing to know about her from you, but all this makes me realize that i am a terrible father and an equally terrible husband. i was never there for you geet, never, when you needed me, during times of craving, when you were close to your delivery, when you got your labour pains, i was never there to soothe you, to relieve you of your anxieties, i was never there to pamper you or our little angel when she came into this world, i was not there when she took her first step or when she spoke her first word. how am i going to face her or make up for all the lost time and moments? how?" maan remorsed

"by not being miserable about the past and is it not true that the great maan singh khurana doesn't believe in the past and lives in the present, i have read his interview" geet chuckled

while maan smiled at her quip.

"and about pampering, maan i hope you remember when you had surprised me a just a day before our wedding, remember?" she asked

"yes, and you were so rude to me instead of being surprised you were appalled!" maan said feigning anger

"yes, i was rude, because you were unreasonable, because you had turned the entire house upside down..." she couldn't finish

"yes for whom? for our tamanna! and you behaved so disgustingly!" maan said

"i behaved disgustingly! how dare you, it was all your fault, you always did something idiotic and then you wanted me to feel good about all your stupid antics and those stupid books that you read when you found out about my pregnancy added fuel to the fire, you just wouldn't listen" get replied haughtily

"how dare you call those books stupid, they were written by eminent and renowned doctors on pregnancy and instead of praising me for my thoughtfulness you made fun of me"

"yes because you looked like a fool" geet said

"should i assume that am imagining or you are actually calling me a fool" maan asked his voice turning grave

"yes am calling you fool, back then all that cooking that you did and from reading those books you got such absurd ideas of dishes and you cooked all sorts of nonsense for me" geet said

"nonsense! was what you wanted to eat, those golgappas and aloo tikki from the street side vendors would have done wonders to your health and i should be thanked for not letting you eat that garbage" maan said

"instead feed with your home amde bizzare garbage" geet said, her voice rising a few pitches

"yes'' maan snarled

"what have you done to th house maan" geet asked shakily

"why you dont like it? see the entire house is covered in..."

"baby pictures" even before maan could finish geet completed.

"yes, according to this book, see here third paragraph" maan said nudging geet a little

'it says that an expecting mother should always be happy and she should be looking at happy pictures of babies so that her baby when her baby is born he or she be a happy baby and it also says that looking at cheruby baby pictures has a wondrous effect on the baby in the womb, they might look like any of the pictures the mother looks at during her pregnancy, now isn't that lovely" maan said

"yes, but maan the book clearly mentions about a few pictures but you have filled our walls with all kinds of pictures the color on the walls is hardly decipherable in fact can't be seen it's all covered in pics" geet finished.

"i know geet, that was my idea actually! i wanted you to stare at babies, cute, sweet, toddlers all day" maan smiled

"but maan..."

"sshhh, no it's no buts no arguments, come i have a surprise for you" maan said leading her to their bedroom.

"haven't you surprised me enough with all those pictures out there, and if you have forgotten it's our wedding tomorrow..." geet felt short for words, their small room the one that used to have sunny bright curtains and a bed and wardrode had been transformed into a nursery! there were cuddles of all sizes, shapes and colors strewn all across the bed while various dolls were neatly arranged on the head board of the bed. the sunny bright curtains were replaced by pink flowy ones and just where the bed ended, a few metres away from it's edge there was a cradle, with pink curtains and bedding and pillows all over. when geet noticed further she saw the walls had bee painted in pink!

"all in pink!" geet said, a bit flustered

"yes" maan said reading her expressions, "why isn't pink the favourite color for girls?"

"yes it is" geet replied distracted

"then i have done a wonderful job, for once seeing your confused face i thought may be i got the color wrong but i too was wondering but now am relieved." maan said

"but maan am a girl, and you painted the room according to the tastes of a girl thats fine but what if we have a son and if he doesn't like the color palette then?" geet asked turning to him

"geet, dont you get it! i didn't paint it to please you" maan said nonchalantly

"what!" geet, at once got up from where she had been sitting, her eyes shooting daggers at maan

"easy, easy there geet, you have our bay, and stop looking at me like you are gonna eat me for dinner as if you dont know..."

'no i dont, please explain" geet said crossing arms

"i have done this for another beautiful girl, the girl am in love" maan said

"but you are in love with me" geet said shakily, her heartbeat rising and suddenly her entire body had gone stiff at maan's answer.

"yes, but i love this girl more than you" maan said

"you cheat! you idiot! you" geet threw anything she could lay her hands on while maan tried to dodge her attacks

"geet, geet, listen me, listen to me for once" maan pleaded

"listen i can never listen to you, all this while you said you love me made promises, and all those lofty words of love and trust and now you love someone else" geet said while hitting him with her hands.

'no, no, no, i didn't mean that, all i meant was i am going to love her" maan said

"even better, gives me more reason to hit you hard, and you have the audacity to tell me this that you are going to love somebody else more than me, more than the mother of your child!" geet screamed

"calm down, calm down sweetheart, listen to for one" maan pleaded

"no! who is she? tell me who the hell is she?" geet demanded

"she" maan said laying his palm protectively against geet's abdomen

"it is her, i was talking about all the while, our daughter" maan smiled

"tamanna" geet said

"but how do you know it is a girl?' geet asked

"i just know" maan smiled and hugged geet tight.

Beautiful update

Their past was so beautiful and maan was so happy for their baby..

loved the way he did everything for geet when she was pregnant.. hwo he just loved to make food and then decorate their home for their baby.. and yeah he too kept the name first only

but at wic maan did maan leave geet

Beautiful update
maan is feeling guilty for not being there for geet and their baby
geet tried to console him but both ended up fighting 😆
loved the past scenes. Maan planned surprise for geet but again they started fighting and maan covered all the walls with baby pics 😆
