ARHI FF: Mirae[Chapter 6 - 15/4/14]

Chapter 1: Cuffed

Kushi stared at the crowd in front of her. Though she had seen these people at occasions, she couldn't gather her thoughts, as her mind was in a haze. She always wanted to marry a guy she was in love with, like her parents but unfortunately she isn't lucky enough to get a chance, or say, she didn't feel any special bond towards anyone she met so far in her life. But now she couldn't escape what the fate has prepared for her. In a few more minutes, she is going to be some one's wife, with whom she never even had any friendly talk after her engagement, one month back. Neither of them had any interest in sparing a glance even once during the engagement. Everything seemed to be happening in a blink. All due to her lack in romantic interest. She is unwillingly convinced to go ahead to marry, just for the sake of her parents.

It felt like, the tempo of the music was in sync with her heart-beat. Suddenly the mangalvadhya reached the peak which marked the climax aka beginning of few new relationships. Yes, Kushi Dev Gupta has now socially become kushi Arnav Raizada. Taking a deep breath she turned to look at her parents who were out of the world with happiness creating havoc in their eyes. But she terribly missed her two best friends she had spent most of her time with, those who weren't there to wish her love , or to comfort her nerves and to adapt to these unexpected events in her life. If only, certain events hadn't taken place in her life, if only she could turn time to set things right, then they would have been here with her.

After dumping all of kushi's luggage and whatever baggage she brought, into Arnav's room, her mom and mother-in-law made her change into a simple but elegant peacock color saree and left her to wait for her so called husband. When Arnav was finally allowed to go to his room after being continuously hearing praises of the beauty of his wife, he reached for the stairs hurriedly to get rid of his giggling family members and their teasing session. But his father's sudden call of his name made him halt and look back at him.

Arnav raised his left brow in a question, what now?'

All the best my son ', Mahendar Raizada said grinning with a thumbs up making him red with embarrassment. Not able to take anymore teasing he went to his room.

Is she really that beautiful as these people mention? Whatever..It is not really like I care about her much', he thought.

Arnav entered his room only to find the left side of bed sagged by his wife who was sleeping soundly on her stomach wearing a knee length grey trouser and a baggy navy blue t-shirt, her hair in a messy bun and her fingers curled in a ball hiding her face to the illuminating light in the room. Though he had imagined various scenarios about how things would unwind, this was definitely not the one he expected. It amused him to see her sleeping, without any awkwardness towards her surrounding like she owns that place.

Could a girl be so care-free on her wedding night... that too ignoring her husband?', he wondered. His lips curved to form a smirk. Without making any noise, he lied on the right side, soon to be evaded by sleep due to the tiring day.

Let me sleep for 5 more minutes please', Kushi mumbled still sleeping trying to ignore the continuous ruffling sound in the room. As she rubbed her eyes to clear her vision after 10 more minutes she was awarded with the sight of back side of tall and young man clad in black track pants and hooded t-shirt lined with fluorescent green. She couldn't gather her thoughts in her half-sleep state. Thinking it to be her imagination she scratched the back of her head and again fell on her pillows to sleep for some more minutes. But the reverberated husky voice called out to her, waking her up finally.

She woke up completely registering with wide eyes at his dusky-skin slightly covered with sweat, due to morning workout, impatient husky voice, thick black mass of hair showing a hint of wooden brown where the sun is illuminating, matching his molten-choco colored sparkling eyes with a golden fleck iris. Her thoughts trailed her away into a different world.

This is so not happening', she mused hitting on her head trying to clear up her mind.

What the hell is wrong with you?', Arnav inquired watching her act like a lunatic. She blinked at him like a deer caught in head lights making him look at her with amusement. Suddenly she checked on her clothes and heaved a sigh of relief which made him narrow his vision at her antics and roll his eyes.

Well looks like you are not a morning person', he said trying to lessen the awkwardness.

Looks like you are clearly the opposite', she stated.

She suddenly remembered how late she was. Her mother's kadoo's face came flowing into her mind, saying Don't you want to impress your in-laws young lady?? You lazy potato... get up soon you idiot...'. Tsk, tsk.. She never wanted to dig her own grave with that look on her mother's face in the morning itself.

Watching Arnav enter the bathroom, she hurriedly blurted I wanna go first'.

He smirked in response, Really??? If you take so long to wake up, I wonder how long you would need to take bath', he sniggered slamming the bathroom door behind his back, leaving Kushi to muse at the audacity of him.

What a jerk of a husband I've got here?? Arghhh..Damn you mom and dad'.

Chapter 2: At each other's throat

Uhhmm not bad', Arnav thought watching his wife descending down the stairs in a pale pink saree with a simple silver glitter border, her hair done in a loose plait and her face so naturally pretty without any make up.

She surveyed the place at the end of the last step and finally met his eyes who rested leisurely in the dining area. She walked up to him with a devil smirk on her face which made him confused.

Sit next to him beta', aditi smiled at her daughter-in-law.

Watching her eyes wandering, aditi alleged,'Your parents went home late last night beta. They assured to call you later. They also have to settle things at home na... so we can meet them afterwards.'

Arnav noticed kushi's face fall at the news and her brow furrowed showing her annoyance. After composing herself she smiled a little and offered to serve.

Only self service kushi', Mahendar raizada insisted. She sat back and sunk into her chair and saw the variety of dishes in front of her. A small smile peeked on her face.

Arnav looked at her curiously gulping down all the dishes in her plate and taking extra servings. When she reached for her glass of water she noticed him watching her intently. It bloody hell annoyed her. What are you staring at? Haven't you seen any girl eat before in your life time?',kushi snapped at him.

Just that I haven't seen any girl eat this much before', he said as a matter of fact.

Are u calling me a pig?', kushi asked oblivious to the fact that they were being listened by two elders in the dining table.

He smiled a sweet sugary smile and said, 'I never said that but looks like u yourself feel that way'.

Aditi and Mahendar were enjoying their conversation, trying to control their intent to giggle. Kushi so wanted to throw something at him to wipe that smirk from his face and slightly raised a glass full of water with an evil intent. But alas looking at the naughty glint in kushi's eyes mahendar raizada cleared his throat insisting their presence which made her blink back and realize what she was about to do in a matter of few seconds which would have resulted in getting an earful from her mother.

After washing her hands she settled down on the couch and dialled her father's number meanwhile Arnav reached his room only to utter his standard dialogue what the?' seeing his messy room where his clothes were thrown here and there. He checked his wardrobe which was filled 3/4^th by his wife's clothes mostly of jeans and kurtis and some sarees. His dressing table drawers completely boycotted from his products and filled with hers. Man... seriously, is this my room?', Arnav thought ,' Damn u Kushi raizada' when he remembered her evil smirk while reaching the dining table.

It had been nearly a week after their marriage. She was a kind creature to everyone else in the house. She helped Aditi a little with her kitchen stuff, accompanied Mahender for his evening tea even had a soft corner for all the workers in the house. She was someone whom everyone thought to be their own beti or babhi or didi except for Arnav. She knew how to shake his nerve and manipulate it to her advantage. A smart girl for she is naughty, bubbly, sharp, insane but a unpredictable being was the impression of his wife to Arnav and Arnav was a workaholic Laad Governor, who doesn't bother about anything else except himself and his works, to Kushi.

Noticing them always fighting like kids for silly things Aditi decided to give them time to be alone so that they can have better understanding about each other. But she wondered whether her idea would work out. She was pondering about this when she entered her room. Kushi was busy watching some anime series in Laptop in Aditi's room. Aaahhh...how sweet! I wish I had this sweet beti around even earlier',she sighed..

Okay!!! WAIT WAS THAT ARNAV's Laptop??!!' She checked the cover which indeed was ARNAV's. His laptop is prohibited for anyone's reach including her.

But how come he gave this to her? Does he start to have some feelings for her? Afterall he is a guy too.Who will not fall for a charming girl like kushi?', Aditi thought and smiled knowingly.

Only for a second she heard a booming voice from upstairs which was clearly her son's trademark angry voice. TchTch...Kushi didn't even seem to notice the uproar from the stairs. Hearing the frustrated rambling, Aditi reached his room to find him searching for something impatiently and cursing under his breath.

Arnav screamed for his mom, 'Adhi where are you?' Aditi knew he took her name only when he is confused or completely frustrated about something.'

I am here only, what happened arnav?', Aditi asked.

Adhi my laptop is missing. Did u see it? I definitely put it here on this table before I went for bath',Arnav said still searching for it.

Aditi spelled khu and blinked. Shit trouble! Her mind alerted.

No Arnav. I didn't. Check it properly'. But Arnav dint miss her starting words.

He gave her a stern look and enquired,'Where the hell is she?'

Not waiting for her reply he started descending the stairs shouting her name in a decibel which can even make deaf person hear things. Aditi followed him with pleas not to make it a big issue. After searching for her in kitchen and dining area he reached his parents door and opened it. He stood at the door for five minutes waiting for her to acknowledge his presence which never happened. Aditi looked at his fuming form and felt bad for the poor thing sitting right in the centre of the bed oblivious to the surrounding atmosphere. Atlast Kushi raised her left fist high up in the air and made a sound,'Assah..Yeahhh...Atlast they kissed each other.Hurray'

After controlling her excitement she closed the tabs and switched off the lap and closed it. When she tried to get up she noticed the two figures standing right at the door one literally burning with rage and other helpless.

Woah, his eyes look coal black in rage and he is looking utterly sexy with his killer intent form', Kushi thought and slapped her forehead, 'f**k, no time to fantasize.I have to do something before he practically kills me', She mused and grinned a big time at him.

She took the laptop hurriedly from the bed and dumped it in his hands reaching his side and said,'Thank you so much Arnav. I thought I was gonna miss this episode'.

Before he could react she kissed his left cheek and went past him. Arnav Raizada was completely dumbstruck to do anything. Out of many other things he never expected this from her. He looked to and fro between his laptop and kushi who was reaching the stair with an enthusiastic skip in her steps. Aditi was amused to see her son this speechless and decided that it was time to execute her plan and grinned devilishly clapping her hands mentally.
