Barsine, when she entered Porus, hated the Indians and was more than happy helping her father in all his devious schemes. She misleaded Porus into believing that she was helping him, while in actual, she was just playing out her father's plans. She knew about Porus's innocence when he was being hanged but kept mum so it's really not like she stands for the truth and can't stand injustice. She assisted her father till the point of marrying Kanishk even when she knew it was all a facade to set the stage for attacking PR. She helped Porus with her 'takhta-palat' move in the end just because she loved him and not because she felt her father was wrong as she was aware of his evil intentions since day one but never hesitated to help him.
After Porus's successful rescue mission at Takshashila, we were shown Barsine filled with gratitude towards Porus for rescuing her and also babbling about the 'zulm' which Alexander has been inflicting upon the 'Faarasi awaam', so that Porus's exposed selfish motive behind getting them freed looks an even more noble deed that they have a shared objective and Porus is actually leading the upliftment of the Faarsis alongside being the 'muhafiz' of Bharat.
After the dialogues, 'awaam par zulm', 'ghulam ban kar koi nahin rehna chahta', 'lootera Alexander' and 'usey Faaras se khaded denge', I thought she has really turned into a responsible princess who is leading the revolt for uplifting her people from all the 'zulms' and for restoring their freedom and well being. But NO! Uski toh duniya hi uski maa-behen par aakar khatam ho jati hai! She married Alexander just because he threatened to kill her family! Isn't she willing to help her 'awaam' anymore? She is just being a selfish royal of Faaras who is more interested in saving her family and not her people! Also, what kind of creatures her mother and sister actually are?! Had Stateira been a responsible Royal and acted a Mallika in the true sense, then she would have still motivated her daughter to act according to the plan and not care for their lives as being the Royals of a nation, their people are their first priority!
I wouldn't say that Barsine doesn't care about her people at all but it's just that her family's well being stands above everything else including herself. She actually stopped at the pleading of her people in Faaras as she wanted to save them Alexander's wrath. She had told Alexander that he can kill her if he wants but her family shouldn't be harmed as they were not involved in her plan.
Her fierce and bold side, usually inspired by people around her, doesn't last long and is taken over by her emotional side soon.
