That is the textbook definition of a sadist, my dear, someone who deliberately inflicts pain and enjoys it.

Alexander might not have smiled, but then how many times have we seen him smile in this show? Precisely twice. So that is no proof that he did not enjoy the ghastly spectacle.

No one here has praised and supported Alexander more than I. Yes, and offered ingenious explanations for every one of the negative things he did, for I cared for him as my boy. But even I could not rescue him this time.

Be a good girl and don't try to fudge ugly things through sophistry . It can't be done.
