I agree with everything you've said here.

They hired so many actors and such skilled technicians for the drama and action sequences, spent so much time and money on the look and feel, etc. What for?

The cast had to commit to working on their characters for 1 year before the filming started, for a show that was supposed to be the biggest ever and would run for 260 episodes. Look at what they've done to their own work! I feel really bad for all the artistes who committed this time of their lives to the show and the creators' vision to have it ruined that way. Rohit is doing his best in his scenes (so are other actors) but the CVs seem to think that the best way to generate drama is through negativity and villains. These things do drive the story, for sure, but the problem arises when they become the story.

I was looking forward to scenes where Alexander will arrive in India and join forces with Taxila against Paurav Rashtra and all the politics around Ambhiraj, but that is looking to be an impossible dream. I also feel that there are two directors/filming teams because the scenes in Alexander's track are so well conceived as are the dialogues, whereas anything to do with Puru/Paurav Rashtra seems very contrived, especially the last 3-4 months.

In many instances I saw inspiration from Game of Thrones but do the makers actually watch that show? Because over there we see multiple characters spread across major geographical distances who are black, white, and all shades in between and keep us hooked on.

They have wasted the potential of Rati as well, tried to show her as a strong woman, but only in terms of her ideals and dialogues. She was the first one hired and they used her name to promote the show a lot but they didn't give her the time or space to shine in politics or strategic plots. Likewise, with Bamni, they only concentrated on him the last few days so that he goes out with a bang. Kanishk-Puru as stepbrothers could have had their own marvellous track of sibling rivalry but here too, it was not shown. Come on, even Alexander with so much less screen time got his own rivalry scenes with Arrhidaes, so it goes to show that the CVs are capable of presenting such themes to us.

Hephaestion and the new Cleitus have become mute as has Olympias. Roxanne's character seems a bit ambiguous to me right now, I'm not sure what to think.

In the meantime, they haven't shown us what is going on in Dasyu lok or Taxila.

Now they are introducing Chanakya and maybe we'll see Chandragupta Maurya and Seleucus Nicator at some point. 😕

Eventually, this show is going to end up being labeled a beauty without brains. Having said that, most of the actors should feel very proud of the work they have done so far. I only feel sorry for the time and effort they invested before and during the show, especially Rohit. He has gone through gruelling schedules and physical exertion just for that 20% of screen time and has had to work really hard to portray Alexander convincingly.

For me, what I'll take away from this show are some great scenes of Alexander's battles, Olympias' drive and ambitions for her son, Ripudaman's sacrifices, the entire Macedonian track, and of course Rohit, who I discovered through this show. Thank God for small mercies!

The problem is that makers have failed to make us feel for most of the characters. I have tried to come to terms with the fact that they need to rush, and in that case especially they need to show us quality drama in the remaining episodes.

What I'm wondering is that if they've sold the show in other countries, how are they going to expect people to like a show called Porus and sympathize with or hero worship him if the titular character sketch fails to capture people's imaginations? On top of that, in some countries they have renamed the show to Alexander, but they are only showing him for a small amount of time. This will disappoint international viewers who will feel shortchanged.

I wonder if they are monitoring viewers' reactions and opinions, who are screaming out loud for more Alexander scenes. Fine, if they want to show him negative as per the script, but show more of him at least. There is so much ready-made material from historical sources that the scriptwriters need not get too creative.

Moreover they could kill off a brilliant character like Ripudaman but kept Shivdutt alive till now.For what?? For god's sake,no one is a bit interested in Shivdutt and his nautanki.

Just imagine how brilliant this show could have been without the Shivdutt-Darius drama.

1.They could have shown more character development for AnuBamni and how their relationship developed.

2.They could have devoted some more episodes to the childhood of Puru and Alex where we could have seen the iconic scene of Alex taming Bucephalus.In a parallel of that they could have shown Puru taming a wild elephant thus marking the foreshadowing of his famous elephant corps.The parallel is there since the CVs are so much in love with the Niyati connection between Alex and Puru.

3.Love stories could have been shown properly.As @Priya correctly said,these people couldn't do justice to any love story.Be it Puru-Laachi,Alex-Roxane or Anu-Bamni.Puru and Laachi will have a fast forward wedding and AlexAna ka toh we all know.
Bechara Bamni bhi parlok sidhaar jayega😭So in short no love story in this show ever got any justice.

4.They could have shown some scenes where Puru is learning the art of politics and warfare from his two fathers-Bamni and Ripudaman.@Deepika wrote a beautiful OS on Puru-Bamni-Ripu long ago.Usise kuch seekh lete yeh gadhe CVs
Parallel to that they could have shown Alexander learning from Leonidas and Aristotle.

5 For part time villaingiri they could have shown Kanishk and a bit of the sibling rivalry between him and Puru.

Basically the CVs could have divided the screentime 50-50 between Puru and Alex.Chalo 50-50 nahi hota then 60% for Puru coz he is the titular character and 40% for Alex bhi chalta.
My point is the show would have been more interesting and the audience would have been satisfied.

Now everything they show looks so forced and rushed.They ate up the Battle of Gaugamela and now I am worried for the Battle of Hydaspes.

Totally agree with you waited for their love track for so long aur mila Kya kuch bhi nahi aparna and rohit both deserved better scenes but cvs ruined everything I'm sure under 3 days alexender india bhi pahunch jayega 🥺

Pehle Ripudaman and now Bamani is going to die 🤔 these two were such amazing characters! Aditya was awesome as Bamani...will miss Bamani Anusuya jodi a lot.

Okay...as soo much has been said about siddharth sir and team on this thread...i would like to defend them...its really easy to say that oh they should have done this way, they should have done that way...audiene like this...audience like that...but its eventually difficult to please the entire audience ...as audience doesnt have a single openion...just your openion...or just my openion that i wish to see my favourite more isnt the complete audience openion...and audience isnt just 20-30 people writing on this forum either...its a very divided space...like some people feel that the audience is screaming for proper alex tracks...others switch the channel when they concentrate on alex tracks because they dont want to watch alex story...they arent interested ...i have live examples regarding this...there is a audience who watches just for pourav rashtra track...me too watch for pourav rashtra only...its just i dont switch on alex scenes...but i am not very fond of them either...sooo asss openions are sooo scattered...they can never please everyone...what will makers concentrate on is what gives them trps...because at the end of day...its business for them ...a single alex track of persia made the show stand at the trps of 0.6 which the show never faced in its entire run...and ofcourse people can say that ipl was running at that time...but ironically/suprisingly...the show actually picked up on the trps in ipl finale week itself..imagine a show was being effected by ipl and the same show gains trp in the finale week itself...and again surprisingly/ironically or even shockingly for many people here who feel that audience cant connect to puru and pourav rashtra track is all drama...the thing which changed in that finale week was that pourav rashtra track was introduced again in the show. So...yaa there is an audience who connect to puru and makers havent failed with their characterization. Its easy to sit and say...oh makers wasted actors time...makers have given these actors their hall for fame for forever...rohittt se pooche koi...agar woh keh de ki porus ne usse kuch na diya ho...ya rati di se hi poochoo...the excitement on her face when she talks about porus is something i can die for...she isss sooo happpy too doo this show...siddharth sir and team has tried doing justice to all characters till the point they can...even mahabharat got a lot of history distortions but it is remembered ...and porus will be remembered too and i am sure about this. In addition, no show on tv till date has got the cinematography porus got...sooo yesss the teammm is also working as hard as the actors are.

And one more thing...seee acting is an actors profession...and aisa toh hain nahi ki siddharth sir kept them on gun point ki bol ki porus karunga nahi toh goli chal jayegi...he just tried convincing the actors he felt are apt for the roles...and he did made an amazing selection for the roles...i am sure nobody in the team is disappointed and got cheated on by siddharth sir...everyone did knew what was coming for them from before only. Thats the reason that rati di and even rohit dint said yes in the first go itself as they were aware screenspace is gonna be less...but when they would have came to know that what kind of scenes they willl get to perform...they said yes...atleast that was the case with rati di and i guess same would have been the case with rohit too.

Actually they have not so much time to show such scenes now - 20 mins. Actually today I would be dissapointed, if there was Alexander's large part, because at the moment I'm interested in PR track more. I agree that they could show smth more interesting than vishkanya, but even vishkanya can be shown spectacularly. We are viewers, so we can't shoot every scene we want, we can only enjoy. Though it could be better, I love the show😊
