Olympia is bold , practical...She walk the talk...Also Olympia doesn't believe in crying like a helpless woman...She does not succumb to the male dominated society...She knows what she want and gets it ...😊 A really strong woman during that time...👏 Alexander is great because Olympia was great otherwise he would have been murdered very young...She struck her enemies before they could strike her and her son 👏

Anusuya: she talks big, do very little. SHE doesn't have courage to face the challenge. She is typical woman who is not independent and who is helpless before male dominated society...She wants to bring change but is too weak ...She doesn't have that bold killer instinct that is necessary to stand toe to toe with dominating male ...and she has no brain

No both are brave bold n loving Olympia made Alexander king n Anusuya gave puru the means to escape death how do you think porus was able to cut the rope n chains she gave him a weapon. Lachi will help him escape now. All of them are brave n selfless n their love is pure.

You are too hard on Anusuya, but in the main, I agree with you.

Especially, I could not make head or tail of what she was telling Puru tonight about not wasting time looking for a way out of a dead end situation, but making/creating his own path. He is at the foot of the scaffold, what path is he expected to carve out?

And she endorses and strengthens his quixotic folly wrt Hasti. Here too I could not understand her rakshak vs bhakshak pronouncement.

It is precisely this kind of folly and unwarranted generosity that led Prithviraj Chauhan to release Mohammed Ghori after defeating him in 1191. Ghori came back the next year, and after defeating Prithviraj this time, ravaged large swathes of north India.

My dear Deepthi,

Don't tell me that Puru is going to cut not just the ropes but the iron chains with whatever contraption Anusuya has pressed into his hand? That would be outside all limits of credibility. And he is on a raised platform in the middle of a hostile crowd. How can an escape be shown realistically?

Not that the CVs will not cook up something unbelievable and shove it down our throats.

All said and done, I feel the masked archer would be the key to Puru's inevitable escape. What I want to know is how his name is to be cleared.

Anusuya and Olympias in this show represent two extremes and their respective sons reflect those extremes.

Anusuya is idealistic and righteous whereas Olympias is pragmatic and ruthless.

The difference between Olly and Anu is that one possesess ruthlessness while the other does not.

Anu is not brainless at all.She has shown her intelligence on certain occasions too.It's just that she made some really stupid decisions during her emotional fool phase.Also she is too good for her own good.She is too straightforward and is not used to playing the game.

Puru being her son is having his own emo fool phase now which I find to be really out of character because he was shown to be extremely smart till now despite possessing the same idealistic streak as Anu does.Hopefully he would be back to normal soon.If not then Laachi can hit him with a huge danda till this bhoot of martyrdom leaves him😆

At the end of the day the makers of TV series need to realise one basic thing.Idealism is not synonymous to idiocy and neither is heroism an excuse for acting stupid.

But then as Daenerys Targaryen from GoT said,'Heroes do stupid things and they die'😆

Then there is one point with which I thoroughly disagree with.

Alexander is not great because Olympias is great.She did play a huge role in his life yes but his achievements are his own.As a person he has his individuality and though he possesses certain traits of both Olympias and Philip he is not entirely like either of them and this is what makes him special.

Historically many people contributed into making Alexander the person he is.His mentors Leonidas and Aristotle played a greater role in his life than his parents.

Even in this show where Olly has been shown as the most important person in Alex's life till now,Alexander's character possesses a backbone and his own mind instead of being a Momma's boy/Puppet/Sidekick.

Alexander possesses traits like honour and his own code of conduct which was shown in his treatment of Arrhaeiddius.He has shown brief glimpses of compassion when he is with Hephastion or when he first saw his sister Cleopatra after a long time.

I am hoping to see more of his caring,passionate and affectionate side in future aka Roxana obviously ❤️😆

I am glad Alexxy isn't totally like Olly here.Had he been that then he would have been the typical textbook villain instead of Alexander The Great

Especially as regards Alexander. I had highlighted the nuances in his character in my first post here, A hatchet job on Alexander?

Hmm right Oly is straightforward and bold and though anu loves Puru i cant help but fast fwd her OTT drama.

But then we must remember the though situation in which anu gave puru birth without any help or assistance in a well and still tried to escape Shivdutt still recovering from labour pain.

Both are bold and loving but opposite in their ways

Actually after reading aunty post I agree with her partially that it's not possible for him break the chains with a weapon but how did he remove them was it a weapon to unlock it or did he break with bare hands rope you may be able to break with your hands but chains not possible. I think lachi will help him escape n masked Archer will cause a distraction to help him or try to shoot him to prevent escape. But lachi I am sure about. But yes I don't agree with anusuya attitude to hasti or shivdutt. I will not question her bravery or love for puru just like Olympia for Alex both are two sides of the same coin. Anusuya is idealistic n Olympia is ruthless. But both are selfless and brave n love their children
