They are old enough to vote and form government and they still asl you what they should watch??

Weird!!!

Incest isn't to be appreciated but it happened in ancient Egypt and that is where George R.R. Martin got his inspiration!!!!

Well incidentally its India so when parents ask their children to do something, they usually do it. Even at my age I listen to my parents opinion. There is no need for stopping legally. Something known as respect does the trick.

In short one should try to understand that there are different cultures that exist beyond their bubble.

The summary is either dont watch a show made for people of a different culture or dont crib. When I watch a pakistani show I dont rant because they are made as per their culture nor do i try to complain about a US show. Different people different set of rules, and all right from their own perspectives.

In words of Dark Warrior - Grow up.

By the way you still didnt answer why the hell are you watching crappish indian shows ( in your opinion)😆

And also you are ok with Egyptian culture being shown in an American show (where the characters indulging in incest are shown of caucasian origin) but not ok with indian shows being made with Indian tastes😆

Now that's what I call weird😆

It doesn't mean respect, it means they are doing it behind your back!!!!😆

It means they watch it online and don't tell you!!!!

I mean I discuss GoT with my mom though she doesn't watch it and says it requires too much concentration!!!!

What Dark Warrior says doesn't matter to me because I have seen her level and cannot stoop so much!!!!

See this is what happens when you are used to history being distorted!!!!😛

GoT isn't supposed to be history, it is supposed to be fantasy inspired from history!!!!

George. R. R. Martin took inspiration from various periods and mixed it up to base it in another world, that way he is doesn't have to take care of historical accuracy even when much of it is inspired from War of the Roses!!!!

As for why and what I watch, you are currently not paying for my cable and so I am not answerable to you dearie!!!!😊

I knew it. I knew you were going to say these last two lines in bold🤣

When a child has dug itself in a deep hole just for the sake of winning an argument and has no reply left to questions arising out of his argument, this is the way he or she behaves.😆

afterall something needs to be done to save face.😆

But i am not discussing a single thing till I get mature answers. Sorry.

Sorry to burst your bubble but you put it in bold while quoting it!!!!

I didn't put any part of my answer in bold!!!!

For someone claiming to be mature, you seem to support suppression and think lack of free flowing conversation is respect!!!!

You are at liberty to think what you want and you might be parent and aunt of adult people, but your act of putting something in bold while quoting it and then putting it on me was nothing but childish!!!!

What the actual f**k. How the hell did this topic go from one direction to a complete another one?? Like how?

To address certain concerns here. Firstly it's not history that is suited to my needs. Its history, it has a set narrative that ought to followed. This isn't a fictional representation with common names running out to suit ones need. It is an actual represention of history. So yes the makers have a responsibility of showing it with minimum distortion or interpolation. And dude when you have picked out a work to showcase people you need to be open to censure and criticism. I am after all investing by time and money on this.

Secondly about not having patience. So isn't that a very subjective problem? It isn't like this show will attract huge audience. It is being dished out for a very select group, a group that doesn't buy bullshit in the name of maan, maryada and izzat. Rest assured it isn't seeing huge numbers in its performance chart. So when it is meant for a select group why not present it with factual accuracies amounting to a brilliantly researched and presented history? Besides it was Baba Tewary himself who wrung out his vocal abilities saying how privileged he is to be presenting a piece of our history. When this statement is out in the open, isn't it his responsibility to show it with minimum deflection from the set path? This is one reason why we don't really have good shows to watch.

About GoT. Well lets agree it's not everyone's cup of tea. It has taboo themes that it openly shows and by extension talks of. Don't want to watch it, don't bother your time in engaging with anything remotely related to it. But also agree to the fact that it's popularity rests on a well executed, research-backed script. They have made efforts to relate the characters to actual historical figures, all the while maintaining its fictional approach. So yeah. Also it is made for a select group not everyone. There that's all about it.

Comparing Indian shows with the Western ones. Let's get the key factor here that is at play. Good content, okay let me rephrase that, research backed content is never appreciated on Indian TV. It is always some mindless romance drama that rules the TRP charts. Had that not been the case, POW, Yudh and Virasat would have seen huge following along with a strong TRP report. That never was the case. This one reason why Indian TV will never have anything good. In the West, even in the East the dramas have stories and facts on which the series is pivoted. You should catch their historicals to see how well they are made even with fictional addition to it.

Porus as a show will never have a wide range of audience, it is made and targetting a very select group. When that indeed is the case why to spice up an already interesting tale from history?? And about that ever happy advice of this being a show and must be enjoyed as one, well I am investing my money and time and I have every goddamn right to critique the damn thing. As simple as that. Besides I am not sticking to this show. It is quite blech. I'd rather read the spicey tales by Plutarch and Kalidas, than stick with a bland presentation forever. Bas kahaani khatam!

Thank you!!!!😊

You couldn't have put it better!!!!👏 👏 👏

Yudh and POW were fabulous!!!😊 😊 😊 👏 👏 👏 👏

It is sad that they never got the required numbers which meant less chances of getting such shows in future!!!

Add the YRF shows to that list!!!!

Totally agree with you!!!!

A very dear friend of mine today said a line inspired by a very famous legend of our times and the line was "Yeh public forum hai kisi ke baap ka ghar nahi hai"!!!!

I laughed and said I couldn't agree more!!!!😊
