What is commonly known about Porus is that he was the only one to fight Alexander and later became his ally.
I will try to find out something about Porus' parents.

so like i said, therefore its safe to assume tht the stuff shown abt Porus's parents r ficitonal.

Hello everyone!!! My name is Ashi.😳

From what we have seen in the promos Anusuya is one character who has left an impact over everyone. She is an enigma. She is strong, level headed, righteous and just. She is someone who is trying to fulfil her dream of uniting Bharat. From what we know about her in the promos-

1.She is the princess of Takshashila as well as the Queen of Paurav Rashtra. So it's assumed that her marriage with King Bamini was meant to eliminate the rivalry between the two kingdoms.

2.She has some conflicts with Darius too which can be seen when she tells him the similarities and differences between a Vyapaari and a Naari.

3.Her brother in law clearly has problems with her.Probably it's due to her her being the princess of the enemy Kingdom.

4.She gives birth to Porus under extremely difficult circumstances and since Porus grows up among the dasyus we can assume that Anusuya did this to protect her son.

5.In the theatrical trailer Anusuya tells Bamini about the consequences of their internal rivalry. So I guess that either Bamini did something he shouldn't have done or his brother does something which leads to a misunderstanding between Anusuya and Bamini.

I am excited to watch the series for I have a feeling that we are going to enjoy this a lot.
Rati Pandey is already breathing life into the character of Anusuya with her terrific acting.

@bold. she said 'hamara aapsi bair ...' what she meant wasnt necessarily btwn her and her husband, she might have meant internal conflicts within india. just my guess, coz tht time even King Nanda refused to fight against alexander and Porus was left with no ally.

@Arsh,yes it can refer to internal conflicts between India too.Dhanananda the Nanda ruler wasn't interested in unity and all the other kingdoms were fighting among themselves.
My guess was coz here Anusuya is the Princess of Taxila and Taxila was the frontier Kingdom.Paurav Rashtra was the land between Jhelum and Chenab. So I guessed that she meant if the two frontier kingdoms were united then foreigners wouldn't be able to attack.

BTW according to history Ambhi the King of Taxila allied with Alexander while Porus resisted. Here Ambhi is Anusuya's brother. So I want to see whether it will be him or his son Ambhi Jr over here.Historically it's Ambhiraaj's son Ambhi who allied with Alexander and was later killed by CGM.

Either way I guess we will find out after the show begins.

I dont feel anusuya is a fictional creation...siddharth sir will not look for casting a fictional character first for his show. Internet cannot be considered as the best medium for knowing history as compared to books as of now and siddharth sir mentioned that there whole research is based on books and not on internet.

You have a point.Nowadays everything cannot be found on the Internet. Moreover whatever is there on the net is from the Greek POV.Looks like Sidharth sir has done extensive research on the subject.Even in the launch he said that they have referred to a number of books.

yup he mentioned twice and thrice that their research is from books. And his focus is from indian perspective ...toh definitely he has done a research from indian perspective and havent just considered greek sources. Not just anusuya...i havent studied about king bamni either ...porus side whole story is not mentioned on internet. Ofcourse the makers will take creative liberty in showing things but bahut jyaada ched chaad siddharth sir normally nahi karenge history ke saath.

What we all need to understand is that Porus is a topic about which there is not much info on the net.
The basic info is that Porus faced Alexander. And none of us have read all the history books.

There is a reason why I feel Bamini and Anusuya are not fictional characters.Had they been fictional characters then why so much importance would have been given to either of them??SidT could have directly jumped to Porus' story and cast lesser known actors for his parents. It would have saved him time and money.
He said in the launch that they have referred to many historical sources and books for their show.So he must have definitely found out something about Porus' family.

About the distortions well then I think we all know that every historical and mythological show has some amount of distortion in them to make it entertaining.Otherwise there won't be a difference between a series and a documentary.
I don't have a problem with distortions as long as they don't affect the story and characters.

^ I completely agree. Siddharth says he got information about porus from Greek sources and I want to believe him. But I feel it is going to be mix of history and bit of fiction.

I think it will be Ambhi Jr who will be the present King of Taxila while Porus resists Alexander
