Suja's father is at the police station with his friend and they lodge a complaint against Gopal. He complains that the man's name is actually Gurumoorthi and that his friend can vouch for that. The friend also says he is gurumoorthy and was his business partner. The IG sends his inpector to invetigate.
Gopal and Jeeva bring Rukku to an Ashram. Rukku asks why they brought her here when they said they are to go to the railway station. Jeeva and Gopal tell her that she is to stay at the ashram and nottoshow her face anywhere near Ganapathy's hosue. Gopal tells her that they have already registered her there and this is all for the good of Kalyani and her family. Both Gopal and Jeeva apologize to Rukku for their behavior. Gopal tells her that he will be leaving the city now that he has completed his duty. Rukku follows Jeeva to the ashram.
At Ganapathy's home, Kalyani laments that the house is emplty without Rukku. She also tells her husband that although she has sent Rukku with her husband, she is now afraid and in doubt. Ganapathy tells his wife off saysing that she would not listen to Rukku when she tried to say he is not her husband. Kalyanis says that when Gopal showed her the photograph she had to belief. While they are arguing, Sujatha comes there and Kalyani asks her to call Rukku on the cell. Suja tries but no one answers. Their land line rings and Suja answers. It is her father on the other end telling her to stop Rukku from going with Gopal. He relates the happenings. Suja tell him itis too late as Rukku and Gopal have left an hour ago.
Ganapathy and his entire family are talking about Rukku and Gopal when the police arrive and enquire abuot Gopal. the inspecter tels them that Gopal is an imposter asks them to inform them if they see or hear from him. They tell him that Gopal has taken Rukku to the railway station as they were supposed to be going on yatra. They offer to go witht he police to the station but the inspector tells them they will handle the situation and leave. Kalyani is very worried and blames herself for taking things into her own hands and forcing Rukku in the present situation. Suja tells them that she knows who brought Gopal into the household. When asked, she says Jeeva. At first everyone is shocked but Jeeva tells them that everyone is at home except Jeeva who has left with Gopal and Rukku. She also says that Jeeva was jealous of Rukku's authority in the house and without Rukku she can take over. Everyone is stunned at this revelation. THODARUM.
