I agree with most of it, but I also feel that he is becoming toxic now. Especially after today's episode, how he declared he won't let her become doctor, and the precap for yesterday showed how rani's admission was cancelled by digvijay. IF He doesn't agree with her accepting the pregnancy- TALK IT OUT, But blackmailing her, using her dreams against her is no way of bargaining.
He asked her again and again, yes, but he did not give her time to think m, and neither did she ask for some time. What irritated me the most was how he left her alone. Surgeons are supposed to have a schedule where they have time for themselves, because that reflects on the surgeries they perform, so if not then, he could have taken an appointment a couple of days later when he was free, when both of them would have thought it through. But then too I feel, if after thinking rani would have denied getting abortion, he would have reacted the same way he did today. Throwing her books giving her an ultimatum, and then going out with your ex - I don't think there is something very "green flag-ish" here.
🔸I understand why people see his behavior as toxic. Yes, he did challenge her by saying, "Ab tum chahe kitni bhi koshish kar lo, doctor toh main tumhe kabhi nahi banne dunga." But how can I take his words seriously when, just a few exchanges later, he contradicted himself by saying, "Main bhi dekhta hoon tum dono kaam kaise karogi."
If he was truly serious about his first statement, he would have followed up with "Main bhi dekhta hoon tum kaise banogi," rather than questioning how she would manage both responsibilities.
Also, Digvijay knows that Rani loves challenges - once she’s challenged, she becomes even more determined. He himself acknowledged this in episode (maybe 8 or 9) when she was leaving the marriage venue, and he stopped her by issuing a challenge. Earlier, in the park, he had also challenged her by saying that if she truly wanted to become a doctor, she should confidently tell the visiting family "no" to marriage - and she clearly expressed her desire to continue pursuing her dreams, which led to the rishta being called off.
Also, in episode 15, he told Ishaan that Rani isn’t someone who just cries; rather, she’s the type who makes others cry. He understands that harsh words won't break her spirit - they'll only fuel her determination.
Now, what I’m not sure about is what was going through his mind when he said all this, especially considering how well he knows her nature. He even told Anisha, "Kuch samajh nahi aa raha hai kya sahi hai, kya galat." Was he reacting out of genuine anger, or did he become crazy after everything that happened? I mean, it was his first experience—his wife and mother both played the orchestra on him! Ek usko bina bataye ullu bana ke bhaag gayi 😆, toh dusri bina bataye aa ke thappad maar gayi 🤦♂️- aur upar se dono ne uski izzat ki dhajjiyan udaane mein koi kasar nahi chhodi! 😂
I couldn't help but find the situation more funny than serious
🔸The precap scene is yet to air, so I’d prefer to wait and see before commenting.
🔸'Talk it out' shouldn’t apply to just one person - it’s a two-way effort. In this case, at least he tried, but she struggled to communicate her dilemma to him, which isn’t entirely his fault. Her circumstances weren’t ideal either, which is understandable, she could have at least made an attempt - just like she did when she initially tried to share the news with him. Instead, she hesitated and ultimately ran away without informing him, despite him explicitly giving her the option to call if she needed him.
🔸Even so, I completely agree that blackmailing her and using her dreams against her was not the right way to handle things. Things might have unfolded differently if she had just made one call to him when she realized what she was doing felt wrong. Given how he had tried to understand her when she confirmed the news, there’s a chance he would have done the same this time as well - which is why effort matters.
🔸I don’t agree that he didn’t give her time to think. He did, but his shortcoming was that he failed to recognize she needed more time without her explicitly saying so. This only shows that he still has room to grow as a partner - one who can understand her completely, even without her having to say it.
🔸Regarding leaving her alone, I already expressed my views.
🔸I don’t think Digvijay would have reacted the same way if Rani had asked for more time and then decided to continue with the pregnancy. Looking at their past interactions, they haven’t always shared the same perspective, yet one of them always managed to convince the other. However, in those situations, it was just the two of them - without any external disturbances (people like Narayani, Pinky or circumstances). They had the space and time to talk things through and find a solution.
▪️In episode 3, she persuaded him to help treat casualties in a basti of Rajkot - something a doctor like him, who once charged 10 lakh instead 5 lakh for treatment, wouldn’t typically agree to, yet he did.
▪️In episode 5, she helped him by bringing petrol for his bike and, in a playful yet challenging way, convinced him to follow her, ultimately helping him reach Debu’s house without further difficulty.
▪️In episode 14, he convinced her to sit on his bike so he could help her reach home.
🔸Throwing her books, giving her an ultimatum, and then going out with his ex were things I didn’t like either. I just hope that in the upcoming episodes, she gives him a good roasting for that "Extra Cheese Dabeli with Ex at Hasmukh Chatwala" incident. It will be fun to watch
