Hey Ron,
Well when I first came across the show I had no idea what it was about...all I saw was a family that were being treated as outcast...but then reading about it and the concept...I knew what was supposed to happen...
But then Vickram and Sugni took our breath away. And I thought dispite the premise ...maybe they had changed it...Let this Thakur help this bedni...he is different and She is different ...so together they were perfect for each other. I expected alot of opposition, as we saw...the family, the people , (when they tried to burn her in the jeep) ... but I thought as long as they were together they can face anything.
He was her protector and she was going to show the world she was going to get that respectable life and not com-premise her principles. Even when Reva showed up and was shown as a witch... I thought maybe she would this time stand by him and understand that circumstances and maybe fate played a curuel joke on THEM not her alone. not see him as her worst enymy.
What Certainly never thought to see was Sugni doing her own Sardakhi , with such a weak reason. and Marrying the nephew well that was the death blow to this show in my opinion. 😭😭😭

Well when i first started watching PSH,i wanted to see how Sugni would change the mindset of the people in her society. I thought that okay, here is a girl that wants to make a difference, a girl who wants to become someone's wife and not their mistress, and prove to the people that they aren't anyone's slave , they have control over their own lives. So i thought that Sugni would be the one to change their perspective then TVS came along and at first i didn't expect him to fall in love with her i thought that the would be like her best friend or a mentor but then the chemistry between them and him falling for her made me realize that they both share a special bond far deeper than just within the limits of friendship. So i thought that they both would get married and their marriage would be an example for others, their trust, respect and love for each other would definitely prove that a Thakur could truly love a bedni that is, love that's not based on just a physical relation but something that is much more sacred. TVS and Sugni were the kind of persons that would never bow down to society so i thought that the two of them together will definitely make an impact the Bednis would somehow start to make a decent life for themselves. In the end i am happy that TVS finally got the love of his life but in relation to changing the mindset of the people in that society was something that was never achieved. The whole point of this show was to highlight the culture of the Bednis and through the journey of the show, we would see these people change their lifestyle and become better individuals andnot only the Bednis but the Thakurs would also stop disrespecting the women. I think that It would have made a better show had they not bring back Reva and therefore, no Adni and Sugni, the girl that wanted to make a better life for herself would not have done her Sadarkhi. The Sadarkhi was one one of the major downfalls in the show because it totally contradicted Sugni's character and what she believed in. What the writers should have focused on was Vikram and Sugni together fighting against the society for the sake of their love.

I watched it from when Sugni was doing Mendhi at the Thakur's daughter wedding and they laughed at her dream. I then went back soo the 2-3 episodes I had missed.
So like Vinnie I expected this to about these two standing up to both communities to show that caste and creed barriers can be broken which would inspire others to have dreams. That there relationship was based twhat is most sacred - mutual trust, respect and love and not physical relationship.
Togther they have been phenomenal in bringing changes to their communities. ie. changing traditions as far necessary to do the right thing
Like Vinnie I thought the return of Reva was another test in the strength of their relationship but the story lost focus and becamed a confused mess. Why the obvious answers were not persued like divorce, like talk about and understand TVSs position, like going away and starting a fresh etc
I ceratinly did not expect Sugni do her sardhakai but what fustrated me more was:
- the pomp and ceremony shown. It must be the first time a girl going into prostitution is celebrated like a wedding😲. Furthermore these girls are selling their bodies to make a living so why waste all that money on putting on a celebration. it made no sense.
- G who up to that point had fought so hard to expose the truth about TVS then became docile and let Sugni do as she pleased. It was absolutely her job to protect Sugni from what TVS was doing (because he was absolutely wrong) but even more important was her job in making sure that she protected Sugni from self distruction but she did nothing apart from runnign to Adi
- she did not trust TVS from day 1 (even when she had no reason to distrust him) so why did she have blind faith in Adi (who upto that point had treated Sugni with disgust) and who was TVSs nephew so any sane person would expect him to side with his uncle not an outsider - again no sense
- from the very beignning if you go back and listen to what Sugni said at the Mela (the Thakur send you new bed sheets once a year but does not see the leak in your room etc) ie. it was clear that the Thakur's treated these women as their play things and gave them something that was for their benefit but did not give a damn otherwise so why was Sugni dressed up like a new bride? She did not want TVS but she was happy to keep and wear all the clothes and jewllery he had provided - so what did that say?
- marry his nephew and living in his house and alienating him from his own family
I certainly never expected Adi:
- a man who despite being in a long term relationship could not commit, lecturing someone else about relationships.
-To do exactly he was telling TVS not do ie. break a relationship he was in.
-Never once tried to understand TVS's position or make any attempt of trying to get TVS and Reva to resolve their disputes.
- to lie to the man he owed soo much too. When you are indebted to someone you can disagree with them, disagree with decisions, at worse you do not support them but you would not go against them
- to have inappropriate thoughts about Sugni at any point but especially when she is sitting in front him crying her eyes out that because of circumstances she is pushing away the man she loves more than anyone in the world. That was truly sickening. Using Sugni's gratitude and circumstances to get intimate.Talk about desparate . But the worst was never once showing that he felt in anyway that his
thoughts or his actions were wrong. That was immoral.
- to marry Sugni and live with her infront of TVS
- that Gigi who fought TVS about marrying Sugni stood meekly by and let her son marry her.
What should have been interesting and entertaining show became sickening and immoral.

Agreed Payal, well said. I honestly never thought it would turn out that way too, i mean in terms of Adi and Sugni's relationship. It was indeed a major downfall.

Well when I first saw I was like it is a real life story with new lead actors what was these writers thinking? 😲 That time I didn't know Narayani nor did I know VB would be in the show. I was like this is a waste of time because at that time Saas-bahu series were leading. 😆 I was thinking that social topics are not that much of an audience pleaser nor did it had the "so called Hotties as lead".
Then I saw Varun Badola walking out of the train😲 This was the turning point as after that I found myself paying attention to the characters. I watched the episodes from start back to actually pay attention and grasp the concept⭐️ I was hooked to the unusual pairing of Sugni-Vikram and hoped that a relationship start.
I felt the pain of these women being used as I always try to support tragedies and abuse towards women and children. Sugni's determined behaviour to not do Sardhakai and Vikram's different, mature yet understanding and pitiful behaviour towards the bednis especially Sugni was a fresh innovation.
I thought that I should have no regrets in watching this show until Nandhish stepped in Aditya'a shoes ans he suddenly turned good. I don't know up to this day if it is because the cvs think nandhish is soft that is why they changed the character sketch or what. After his entry, everything went upside down. Amrita-Adi relationship ka the end, Sugni sardhakai being performed by a man who doesn't like bednis, ADINI marriage, Sumana and Reva entry, Vikram having a negative shade, Champa rape. All these made me angry at myself for watching PSH. I began thinking that I thought from the starting the show would not last long. I had too much faith of Vikram entry and them having Subah😭
But the birth of Chulbuli and intro of Aama raised my faith. It worked as I SUGVI married and Sugni got her Subah 😃

A show is like life, It has ups and downs. Times of regret and times of smiles

Well said Simi, i agree after the leap, i felt that the show is actually coming back on track and going the way we had hoped that is, with SUGVI together and we saw how much Chulbulli loved and cared for Vikram it also showed you that he was always in her heart and she loved only him that was why she felt that instant connection to him whenever he was around her. Had Adi been her true love, she would have never felt that way about Vikram

From promos I was expecting to see this perverted thakur purchasing a bedni. Her prince charming would come and save her, etc etc. just as was advertised.

But then when the show actually started and after I stopped doubting Vikram's love for Sugni, stopped expecting him to turn into a dirty perverted thakur who just wanted to get into her sari😆, I was amazed and happy with the story.
I thought they would encounter alot of issues with the society before they actually got married. I expected to see them fight every possible bad phase together. I expected to see other bednis demanding marriage from the thakurs, etc But instead I saw Sugni turn into a selfish immoral bedni who backstabbed her true friend. I didn't get to see Sugni emancipate herself from Bedia community but instead I saw how a true bedni behaves.

👏well said .. agreed with every word
i guess the writers were confused with the project and forgot what they wanted 😆
