She looks at him for a long moment and then says -

Bahot duk diya ne hamne phele anjaneme aur baad mein sub kuch jaan kaar. (I have given you a lot of pain unwittingly and on purpose).

Seeing his questioning expression she says

Since Aditya, Uma and Amrita's arrival I have had a number of conversations, the one with Amrita being the most though provoking. She asked some difficult questions that made me realise that I have made some mistakes.

I knew your marriage was not a happy one but I am old fashioned. Marriages are for a lifetime and good or bad you make the best of it. So I turned a blind eye to your unhappiness. And then when you tried to hold on to the happiness you found so unexpectedly, instead of understanding you, supporting you I contrived to put it beyond your reach.

So it is comforting to see you so happy after all that has happened.

She reaches up and cups his face with her hand and says tumhe andaaz nahi hai tum hamere liya kitna kemti ho. Phir kabhi apni Maa ko chode kaar maat jane hmmm.

Vickram looked at his mother in Shocked Surprise. Knowing she was not much of an emotional person he was wondering how to respond to this.

AApne jo bhi kiya na, ghalat nahi the, jo bhi kiya voh is parivaar ka maan samaan rakhne ke liye. maana hain ke humare sar pe na jane kya howa tha...sah i kya tha ghalat kya tha...mujhe sun na nahi chata. Aur is ke karan bahut kuch howa.Aur isliye mey aapse maafi mangta hoon.
Jo beet gaya so beet gaya ...in sub cheezo ki baath karne se...kuch haasil nahi hoga ..savai dard.
Ek baat mey app se batawonga...ab se na sub kuch aacha hoga...mey vada karti hoon aapse...ke jo naam, shaan is parivar mein thi na ...Sub kuch vaise hoga...aur bettar hoga.

What are you saying mom?... what ever you did it was to save the reputation of this family...I admit I had no idea what was going on in my head at the time... what was wrong or right I did not want to hear any thing like that. And because of that ...so much has happened...and for that I apologize to you. What has happened , happedned...and remembering it ...takling about it...will gain nothing except hurt.
But I want to tell you one thing from now on every thing will be fine...i promise you..that the name and reputation and standing this family had It will be that way again...even better!

Hum Jante hai ke yeh parivaar tumhare hatho mein hamesha surksit rahega (I know this family will always remain safe in your hands)

Par hamare ek baat hamesha yaad rakhna - maan saaman, shaan, naam, param paraye yeh sub cheeze ke mayne hai but not as important as a person's happiness (But remember one thing - name, reputation, traditions, society's norms are important but not as important as a person's happiness)

I am trying to change my thinking Beta for the sake of my children's happiness because ultimately we are only a family because of the emotional bonds that tie us together otherwise its just a bunch of people living under the same roof.

There is one thing I will go to my grave being proud of - that is the son I have raised.

You know Aditya looks just like your father but you not Aditya have inherited his personality. He was proud, strong, a little arrogant, stubborn but fair. He never backed away from accepting and acknowledging his mistakes and apologising for them. You are the same sirf ek farak hai you are twice as stubborn as he was but that's because you have inherited subborness from both of us she says with a smile.

That is true,... you have said that i am dear to you and you are proud of me you have accepted Sugni's and my marriage whole heartedly, you have welcomed her as your own...there is nothing else I want. I will try my best to mend fences with Adi. Just fixing Kuhu's situation now...and that will happen as soon as possible...then every thing will be alright...I believe that!

She smiles, patting his arm says with pride - this is my Son always dealing with problems pragmatically.

But I gained this pragmatic son at a price - the sudden death of your father forced you to grow up fast because you had to take over everything and then along came Uma's problems and Aditya and you took that in your stride. You became the no nonsense Thakur Vikram Singh who was admired, respected and feared probably in equal measure by one and all but but in amongst all that you lost your youth and the only thing left of that young man in you today is your obsession with chess.

Seeing his expression she says - no I am not going mad but with everything that has happened I have realised that I have taken you for granted for far too long and I need change that.

They sit quitely each lost in thought for a little while then she says about Kuhu's situation I know the divorce papers are ready but I want you hold off sending them for now.

Yes Beta I understand what you are saying but when you send those divorce papers all hell is going to break loose because those people are not going to give up so easily.

Kuhu is not as strong as you, she has just started to become her normal self. I want her to recover as much as possible before the next onslaught.
