I find it amazing how I simply find myself void of any feelings of sympathy for a character named Sugni. I had to ask myself this question. Had I suddenly lost my compassion and feelings of remorse...for here I was delighting in watching a character get degraded. A character whom I loved and adored I cannot stand, respect, admire or like.
The writers of this show must seriously ask themselves what they are doing wrong when an audience member suddenly cannot root or support their main lead but actually laughs and cheers on her degradation. They must sit back and take a moral inventory of their own self and wonder, what did we show on this show that is not with in the values of a society that we thought was actually part of their own.
Perhaps in these writers views there is no boundaries with relationship...perhaps in these homes loveless and dead marriages existed, divorce was unacceptable, a man could lust after another relatives love and marry them, a woman could betray a friend and chase after her lover, and people could lie and deceive others but chastise and demean those who didn't. Obsessive fools, people who feign mental illness and women who enter into a mental illness and then don;t and then want to be married and then think it's ok to kill their husband.
I realize this is all done for entertainment but GOOD writing involves a lead that is likable even when they do wrong - a good example is Nucky Thompson the gangster in Boardwalk Empire, So I suggest the writers go back to the writing board and really spend time looking at Sugni and getting her to do what is RIGHT.
