I was always under the impression that television viewing was for the audience enjoyment /entertainment and sometimes to highlights the harsh realities of life for us.
I also understand that Phir Subh Hogi is such a subject that deals with the harsh realities of the life of a very down trodden, part of society that maybe most people turn a blind eye on. But seeing that the format you used to market this show was as a serial/soap opera and not a reality TV show...I find in the past few months your handling of the Subject matter distasteful, bordering on ridiculous, crass, and in no where entertaining .
At the beginning of this serial you were praised for tackling such a subject matter, you came out onto the social networking sites and asked audiences of their opinions and made some of them feel honered when they saw some of these suggestions on the screen. It felt as though you really are connected to the audience some how.
Then things got a little shady (reva Manzil) , and the Audence expressed their distaste for it. It is understood that you had a particular vision for the story and certain characters to play certain parts...So dispite the majority of your audience favoring a particular character as the "hero" you took the creative initiative and stuck to the original plan.
The problem now is they way the story has unfolded till date has left a bad taste in the "Majority" of the audience mouth. I say that using the polls on this forum as an example of public opinion. Each one of these Polls states that the story has lost the essence since the Main Character, Sugni, has the least in audience support, sympathy, and respect, even though she is going through some of the worst circumstances any one can go through.
That in itself should tell you something, as on this forum most of the members are ladies. This story is a female based story about getting through a tough life triumphant, turning bad circumstances into her favor. But here the heroine is being shown as causing most of these circumstances onto herself, well finding sympathy for that is hard.
If the purpose of this show was to showcase the strength , integrity, will power, faith, and self respect of Sugni, sadly you have not achieved it in any way.
If the purpose of your story is to show that once you are downtrodden, and in a hole, you bend to circumstance and follow the norms of society as there is no way out, well you have achieved that with roaring success!
In achieving that though you have really disappointed and disillusioned the public who had high hopes of seeing a story with a difference. And it really is a sad state of affairs when you have people here who watch this not because it is a story that touches our hearts, but because we just happen to like the actor(s).
I was one of thoses who had high hopes of cheering Sugni on in her Journey , but sadly I am appalued that such creative writers could have distroyed such a beautiful and spunky character.
With all Due respect,
Deeply saddened and disillusioned
