culprits and Idiots

II want to present a different perspective on these characters

1. Sugni: She is from a bedia tribe where the girls of the family are expected to go in prostitution. All the forces in her environment except her mother are pushing her towards that situation. But she has the spirit of life in her and and wants to do better for her life. She is full of enthusiasm and spirit and tries to achieve better in life. Therefore, she is looking for jobs and earn money without loosing her dignity.

Vikram recognized this spirit and appreciated it. He tried to support her in her quest and obliged her and her family in many ways. Maybe in the beginning his intentions were honorable, But he became villain when he declared his love for Sugni, knowing very well that he was not only married but his wife was alive. Sugni on the other hand had never experienced such attention from any male fell for it. Sugni had never seen or experienced outside world and was pulled into the current of all flow of happenings around her. If Vikram had never declared his love and pushed Sugni in declaring her love( realizing her love) she would have continued to worship him as kindhearted person that was potrayed in the beginning. But not only Vikram declared his love but insisted on getting married to her. Why could not he and Sugni have putonic love? So Sugni felt devasteded when she came to know about his betrayal. By his own actions Vikram had told Sugni that she is going to be the other woman. How was this any different that what all other poor bednis had to go through? Vikram's loud declarations tha he loved Sugni really were meaning less as ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN THE WORDS.

People act in irrational manner when they are hurt emotionally. The bigger the hurt the BIGGER the irrational the action. Sugni did just that. She offered herself for sardhakai. It was stupid and childish reaction to her hurt. But did she or her mother usethat money? No her greedy relatives did.

She than did every thing her owner ( Aditya ) wanted her to do to help save Vikram –Reva's marriage. She grew up in en environment where a woman's existence is nothing but jus an owned goods. She tried to fulfil her obligation.

Vikram and Aditya both came from a background of previlage. They should know better. But both of them tried to use Sugni for different reasons and for their own selfish interests. When the 1^st marriage fiasco happened, Aditya could have helped Sugni and her mother to move to an urban setting and helped her start a business or something to earn a respectable living. But instead he bought her.

Vikram with all his declaration of love was only obsessed with her and if he had any respect for her he would have handles situation differently.
