I did see many people saying this would lead to a custody track... but I don't see that happening.
Madhavi is going to be the person to figure the truth. She unlike Meher and Abeer would seriously look at Ishaan's good. She or / and Abeer would confront Meher about Ishaan and ask her to choose between custody or marriage (can be temporary too) to Abeer for the sake of Ishaan.
Neither Abeer nor Meher would really want Ishaan to go through custody battle... It will be very hurtful for the child. However, neither would be able to relinquish their right over Ishaan. To share an equal custody, which Abeer would want at all cost; for having missed out on his initial years. Abeer would threaten Meher with marriage; Madhavi and Suman would convince the duo to go through it for Ishaan's sake.
When Abeer wants this the only option Meher would have would be to be wife in name only... their discord would continue for the story to move around. Complications would arise due to their ex-partners viz. Sasha and Akshat or Kuber and Rati and also the time frame of the marriage. This would feed the drama content and ensure that they don't get together but leave room for ample romance.
Unlike other series, this one has mature leads who love their child and also each other. They are not promiscuous or selfish. So dont logically see a custody track coming.
