I would say yesterday as a woman I felt proud. Felt proud because I was seeing a woman on TV who was speaking my language. Yes Meher was truly courageous to tell her family about her stay with boys during her college days , the need for it. Once she admitted what she has done she told them the reason for joining the company.
She wanted to move ahead in life. Yes she was broken, broken after Abeer left her. She felt useless. Meher spoke all the emotions she went through by being treated like a garbage by Abeer by his running away. She admitted she doesn't want a life like that of her mother's. Tolerating her dad even after he ran away.
She said she wanted to prove to herself and the world she can live without Abeer. She wanted to sign his check. She wanted to win against the man who played with her emotions.
I loved , loved every bit of it. See there will be fault lines in Meher also in the breaking of relations, her attitude to win at any cost is also not right. But the fact I liked was a leading lady was speaking what she felt, what she wants to do. Like a human being. Not like the soap heroines who takes even the crimes that goes by side on their head and sit crying buckets of water. Who are willing to throw themselves at their husbands and MILs feet in the name of sanskaar( I have never understood is being dumb and doormat is what you call sanskaaari). This lady wants to rise from the ashes and give back.
Maybe she will get burnt, but doesn't matter. He will also burn alongside her and together they will see a new light. A dawn where she need not compromise her life, but there is acceptance from both sides on taking ownership and accountability of the life together. And that dawn will give the woman a better life than whatever her mom and her MIL has gone through.

Great post

Seriously I loved yesterday's episode
Asmita nailed it

For the first time on indian television, female lead character is so strong and powerful

Just that we are girls, it doesn't mean that others will rule our lives. ..

I am sure some trp aunties ,will think she's egoistic ,or she's not sanskari ...
Blah blah

But being a girl, I am feeling proud of meher

This character meher is sketched very beautifully beautifully...so far

yes fero. Her dialogue she can fight the world if she can have her mother and her bua by the side, she doesn't need a useless father and a husband who cannot live upto the 7 vachans he gave during marriage was really really awesome.
yes accountability is not only for woman, it is also for men. 7 vachan of marriage is not taken by woman alone, it is taken by both man and woman. By demanding accountability Meher spoke for thousands of girls out there.

😊you know shruti,in this M&B type serials, viewers want the hero-heroine to be together, however downright rude and badtameez the hero is,and heroine is used as an emotional punchbag, take any successful serials from the past,u can find people[women mostly]pointing fingers and accusing the heroine of not forgiving the hero, even if he melts and says a simple sorry.sadly, that has been the trend.
but yesterday MEHER STOLE THE SHOW,seriously, felt like giving her a standing ovation.and from her words,it was clear that abeer's immaturity and ego played a very large role in their divorce.he hardly ever understood her.her mom and MIL have no guts and her bua is too much a feminist and harsh, but cant put a stop to the regular visits of her useless brother.and i see remote chances of a reunion until abeer improves himself bigtime and puts maximum efforts to understand meher.but do u think it will happen??

precap was one of the most powerful precaps ever on TV[atleast for me].but now when the entire office knows the truth, won't they know that the girl in abeer's story is meher??

ps:but i have to say,the show is holding onto its viewers by a very sensitive thread, any third angle/typical vamp/jealousy track will ruin the show.the cvs should understand that the audience really had more than enough watching such tracks.we do need a refreshing show, don't we❓

Great Post!
I'm happy that Meher choose to not compromise with her life, instead she choose to fight back and make a successful career for herself - this is a true woman!
I love the fact that she broke her silence on her past with Abeer, as a answer to all the jobless gossipmongers...Shows that a lady can face her past and rise like a phoenix.
Meher is my favourite female character on Indian tv for her attitude and ambitions. For her, a relationship was not the world, I really like this approach. In other serials, you see women doing all sorts of stuff in the name of sanskaar, this show is a pleasant change😊

Yesterdays episode left me spell bound !! Meher spoke every independent women mind . Just we are born as girls we don't need to bear pain , we don't need to store or hide feelings . God has sent both men and women with equal rights . Gender differentiation is jus for continuation of species. It's the society that framed rules for women . Women are not objects for not leashing anger or hatred . Why does society expect a girl to compromise or accept a man who breaks her . We are surviving to live happy , not to chase and embrace pain or hatred .
Every dialogue in yesterday episode does deserve appreciation . Actually in yesterday's episode , there was very little of fun , normally we find it boring , but yesterday's episode was absolutely Amazing . Everything was perfect. No OTT, no huge BG music , subtle yet immense portrayal of dense emotions .

Supportive families always make girl strong !! I hope people learn seeing this . Conservative families , think they didn't bring up their child properly , if the girl comes home in need and they jus convince her to compromise . I sometimes wonder , what do parents want from kids , their happiness or staying with husband !! They think girls happiness is with husband , no matter how he treats her .

Okay now I am feeling I am not going to stop my blabber 😆
Sorry for rant ,

This! The show has so much potential but as long as they stick to the core of a couple sorting out their differences. Meher and Abeer are opposites-- if written well there is enough substance for drama between them without the need for third angles or vamps.

Personally, I would like to see Meher and Abeer become friends first and slowly grow together before they become romantically involved again. I want to see Abeer understanding Meher.

Meher and Abeer becoming friends 😲 is that even possible😆
U must not forget , these two are highly , extremely expressive . Either way love or hatred . I think friendship is not possible , when both very well aware of their feelings , love . But it will be worth watching if they show .😛 But what I feel is , I want Meher to grow more strong and become more immune to Abeer charms , he should once again fall hard for Meher , he should know what she is . Bcz it was she who took care of Elton dsouza , she took it bcz she still loves Abeer , she took her husbands responsibility , tough she don't say it . This is the Meher he needs to know . Agree fights and misunderstandings are common between couples, but when we understand each other , every fight will remain as memorable lesson , if not they will remain as uncurable pains.

@ratna the real test for Meher is gonna come post her confession of the relation with Abeer. If Abeer tells he still loves her, the society or the office will expect Meher to compromise. That's the battle Meher has to win, that just because a man says he loves her and his actions prove otherwise a woman need not go to him. If he truly loves her, he needs to learn to give her space. The story should show that as @malikakas said.
I would prefer to bring EHT here. There was a point where Durga had to choose her goal for justice for Payal and her love. She choose justice and friendship by deciding to marry Shaurya. Viewer's were shown Dev's journey for her sake to the extend he too was forced to choose between love and friendship. Though harsh he chooses friendship. When only both were shown doing justice to the previous relation in every way, the romantic union had the needed essence. Both of them passed through fire and pain for their individual mistakes. No compromise was shown. I hope BD too gives a similar process and not run of the mill tolerate the abuse of the man or love of the man type things.
This accept the love of the man is the leading cause of acid attacks, hate murders and even rape. Deny the choice for the woman she very much has. Meher actually stood up for all those girls who want to say " No" and just mean it.
