'PPK' courted a massive controversy as it depicts a 9-year-old boy following and wooing a girl who is double his age. An online petition to ban the show was initiated which was signed by more than 1 lakh people who believed that the show was promoting child marriage. The case reached the BCCC, who have asked the makers of the show to change the time slot so the kids shouldn't watch it and air it to 10 pm slot along with a disclaimer message that it does not promote child marriage. Another online petition was started by supporters against the ban, to stop targeting the show, which was signed by over 13 thousand supporters so far.

'Yeh Un Dinon Ki Baat Hai', a show that revolves around the love story of new actors Arshi Singh and Randeep Rai will replace the time slot that was earlier given to 'Pehredaar Piya Ki'. The show will also feature comedian Ehsaan Qureshi and veteran actor Kiran Kumar.

Sony TV confirmed that the show has gone off air as they were not happy with the late time slot, as the show was meant for particular audience.
