Nothing but a marketing ploy I am sure😆 In a few days he will make another statement saying he stands corrected and will declare the show to be a path breaker.
Almost every show out there is regressive, why should this one be singled out.
Personally, it's not for me. After the first episode I found myself rushing to change channels before the show starts.

And such things did not come up when a show like Yeh Vada Raha came on-air? Alright...No marriage in it na but that show had a much worse concept, the only difference being these seven vows , really...I actually witnessed some sort of scenes between the young girl and the boy...Similar to this but yaa..It didn't show the hero making the heroine wear Mangalsutra until she was 18 and , how to forget...there it was a young girl and old boy...here its opposite..Right?
There I remember my ownself leaving to watch that show because the young girl was shown to be tortured by the Hero's loved ones, nobody questioned that...Girls , why to mind...right?
We see heroines being put on stake, some sort of Cheer Haran things, heroine being thrown out of her own house as many times as anybody else wants...heroines dancing like some entertainer wherever the cv's want...Heroines falling for the one who literally tortured her (Sometimes even from childhood) but nobody questions...Why? Here everyone is so adament on questioning the concept from 1st episode...no one's mad yaar to start such a show...understand...Nobody questioned shows like Tu Suraj mein Sanjh Piyaji from the same PH...where the heroine is forced to marry and treated like a rag...Dil se Dil Tak: Where I don't know if these people will break a marriage and unite someone else...Dreamgirl Where the heroine was send back to her native without fulfilling the dreams for which she came up In Mumbai and end being the villian winning...is that not regressive...is that not Bullshit? Here the heroine is strong , thats the reason its receiving bashing...right? Ridiculous...

This comment from Narayni Shastri sounds more like a publicity gimmick for her own show.
I have watched first week episodes of the show and didn't find anything that can be called as 'bullshit'. I won't support anything outrageous if they show it later, but as of now it doesn't look like that. It was clearly shown that the girl has agreed for marriage out of the obligation and she was indeed in shock although she has agreed for the marriage. From the boy's side it looks like total fantasy, totally apt for his age.

Where were these people when they showed a 9 year old girl was shown plotting and attempting to kill a women.Yes that kid was trying to murder someone by poisoning, electrocuting and burning her alive.Indian TV industry is highly regressive and misogynist where forced marriage ,hero torturing the girl is shown as romantic. Karan wahi please raise your voice against such things also. People watch daily soaps for entertainment and do not think about morals and ethics.

People happily watched such shows as Bidaii (trp ruler like it got 8.+ trp) and Banoo Main Terii Dulhan..
where a woman was married to a man who had child mentality and no one raised their voice (these concept is still happening to this date)

Just because the men there had adult bodies...you guys were okay even though their behaviour and thought and outlook on life were of a child.

Atleast this show is upfront about it, the body matches the brain/mentality.

Nothing about this show so far is romantic (except from the child who has a crush which is normal at his age) yet those shows had all these adult women expecting their child of a husband to look after them and treat them like as if he was mentally a man and not a child which is far more disgusting than PPK.

PPK right now is not a love story nor is their relationship romanticised *except from the childs POV*...Diya treats him the like the child he is and not as a love interest.

If Wahi is serious about this matter then I hope he goes and writes a missive about Agnifera too (currently on air) which has one of the parallel leads in a marriage with a man who has the mentality of a child.

TV shows have couples that stay with their husbands after near rape/torture everyday

More of a publicity stunt by Wahi for KKK. The promos of PPK have been out for weeks but he only felt the need to comment on the concept with his show to air in 3-4 days. Grow up Wahi. Let your work do the talking and don't use these cheap tricks

@bold, You said it just right!! There have been very few shows on Indian TV that can be called as really progressive. Most of the TV shows are misogynist and show the angry young men type abusive male leads treating their timid female counterparts as sh*t, and glorify that as romance.. And the shows who claim to show strong female leads, can't achieve that without showing them as either psychotics, home breakers, or in bad light for any other reason. Just because any show has urban backdrop doesn't make it progressive and vice versa. I think this show deserves a chance before jumping to a conclusion that its content is regressive.

ratan marriage at age of 9 is done only to protect ratan life because according to will paper if anyone kill ratan then property will go to wife so if ratan will not marry immediately after fatherdeath then ratan will be kill by enemy before he reach actual marriage age
main intention of cvs not to glorifying child marriage and romance between 9 and18 year old .main intention is to show protect life of 9 year only marriage can save life of ratan after fatherdeath

if ratan father would have live long then child marriage of ratan would have never taken place as there is father going to protect ratan till 21

since his father died and after father death his life will be fully danger without father so according to will paper only marriage can save life .if he will not marry immediately after fatherdeath then he will be killed by enemy before he reach 21

cvs want to show us that if ratan father would have alive for long then ratan would have never marriage at 9 because as there is father to protect him till he become 21

^then in that case, the enemy will kill both Diya and Ratan. In what way is this marriage not being glorified, or romance not being shown when they show a 9 yr old kid stalking an 18 yr old girl and holding her and asking her to marry him? No matter what anybody argues, that is not an age to go around stalking a girl. Children are supposed to be innocent, not tharki like the kid in this serial. And if the kid really needs to be protected, the father shouldve arranged bodyguards for him. The kid needs a bodyguard for protection, not a wife. She could even protect him being his sister. Her parents could adopt him legally. Why should she marry him?
I agree with karan wahi. We need to better than this. And ppl questioning his career choices coz they can't stand the truth, u guys too need to be better than that. Anyway, I just happened to catch a glimpse of the first episode, and it was beyond cringeworthy.
