Sushant Singh spends time living Mahi's real life in Ranchi for his next movie Untold Story of MS Dhoni'

#Ranchi #Jharkhand Sushant Singh Rajput, the new Bollywood heartthrob, reached Ranchi on Wednesday to gather information about Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni for his next film Neeraj Pandey's 'Untold Story of MS Dhoni' in which he will be seen playing the lead role.

He arrived in Ranchi to get a feel of the place where the cricketer grew up. Rajput, who recently played 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshy', spent time with Dhoni's friends and visited almost every place where Dhoni spends time when he is in Ranchi. The actor also met his parents. Though Rajput was reticent about the meetings, sources close to him said the tour was "for homogenization" before shooting for the movie begins.

As per a report in Times of India, Gautam Gupta, the cricketer's brother-in-law, and childhood friend Chitu took Rajput, who has grown his hair for the film, on a tour of the places that helped Dhoni grow up as sportsperson and in personal life.

"Rajput went to JVM Shyamali, Mahi's school and the playground where he used to play as a child," Chitu said.




The actor, who left Ranchi on Thursday, visited Pan Singh's residence at Mecon Colony where Dhoni spent his childhood, the bungalow in the same area that was later allotted to him by Mecon after he joined Team India and the current residence at Harmu Housing Colony. The two-wheeler showroom owned by Gupta and Dhoni's farmhouse on Ring Road, where Dhoni spends time with friends when he is in the city, also helped Rajput know about his reel life's untold stories.

The new film by Pandey of 'A Wednesday' fame is expected to reveal some of the unknown aspects of the life and rise of a small town boy to an iconic cricketer.

"It was important to understand the finer aspects of Mahi's life before playing it on the silver screen, and for that people close to him can give an insight," said Chitu who was coordinating the visit.

Sources close to Dhoni said Rajput would also visit Kharagpur where Mahi joined the Indian Railways after being offered a service by the government for his performance in the international cricket.

Gupta, who was happy that Dhoni's struggles finally caught the eyes of Bollywood, said family and friends were ready to assist the film crew because they would not like any misinterpretation of facts. "We have tried to cooperate and will be happy to extend any assistance to filmmakers in future," he added
