@Ashfaque: If you see, the villains never do the rona-dhona - it's the leads who are miserable, crying etc. (unless we're talking about channel V shows or a QH show) on most daily soaps.
Negative leads are strong and fiery - and story arc/extended cameo means an appearance for 2-3 months at the most, where they can have some fun and take a break from the rona-dhona
Negative shades gives you more chances of portraying your variety in terms of acting, unlike positive leads (talking about majority of shows) who are forever in 3-4 problems and miseries and troubled by the negative forces!
