Life is NOT simple! People were saying pari deserves both parents! How can she live without one or the other! Pari will bring her parents back together! And back then I was saying 'but lots of kids live without there parents day on day out and live in homes ect' and 'What if Ovi has a child with Arjun too!'
Then things start to get complicated.
Pari had a father figure (onir) at that time who was more than ready to accept her as his daughter!
And now look Ovi has a child.
Those demands of 'Pari needs her father name, Purvi needs to have the same surname as pari's father, all arguments are baseless!
We're in the 21st bloody century. A woman doesn't need her husbands surname! Doesn't need to be owned by her husband to be a mother to her child. All that shock at purvi being a single mother, claiming it was socially unacceptable. Well here's a reality check! Millions of mothers are single parents and cope well enough!
A woman can be happily married, but still have her own surname! It's her identity! She can choose whatever surname she wants.
I'm not against a woman changing her surname to her husbands, my mother did after all and yes I have my fathers surname. But my question is simple: 'What if Ovi wants her baby to have Arjun's name too?'
Why should one set of rules apply to one sister and not the other sister?
Same as Purvi's daughter needed a father, same Ovi's daughter needs a father.
Same as Purvi's daughter needs her parents together, same Ovi's daughter needs her parents together.
Same as Purvi's daughter needs her fathers surname, same Ovi's daughter needs her fathers surname.
All those remarks of Purvi needs Arjun more even though he's married to Ovi, all those remarks of Arjun needs to divorce Ovi and marry Purvi because Pari needs him. All those same rules apply to Ovi and her daughter now!
I'm just glad Ovi is coping well all alone. No excuses of 'My daughter needs her father'
Who knows in the future though but Ovi (and purvi!) don't need Arjun. They are rich, educated, have servants, have their own careers. Both are more than capable of looking after their children without a father!
I know it's good to a have a father figure! But only when that same father takes an active part in their child's development!
Apart from that, for ANY child a mother is always enough!
Changing a surname does not change anything in ones relationship!
