Mumbai: Television actor Rithvik Dhanjani, who has gained immense popularity for his role in Pavitra Rishta and for winning the latest season of Nach Baliye, will be seen in an episode of MTV Webbed, Season 2.

"I appear in the show as myself, and although this is not inspired by any particular incident, it is my way of sending out a message to my fans to be extremely careful while surfing online," says Rithvik.

In this particular episode, the storyline has Rithvik gearing up for a concert meant only for his viewers and a female fan of his, who tries her best to make it to the show, is lured by strangers pretending to be the star. Ironically, in the show, the actor does not come to know of her plight and the episode ends on that morbid note.

"It's important for fans to follow only verified accounts of actors. For instance, I am not on Facebook, but I know that many people are running accounts on my name, claiming to be me. Young girls end up liking such dubious pages and get swayed by the activities that happen there," he adds.

Rithvik had immediately agreed to be a part of the show after hearing the episode brief from Vikas Gupta, the channel head of MTV.

"Vikas is a friend, and while discussing the viscous place that the Internet has now turned out to be, I realised this was the best way to express my concern. And even when I interact or meet my fans during events, I let them know of my actual Twitter handle so that they are not taken advantage of by anybody online, pretending to be me."

Popular television actor, Rithvik Dhanjani will be seen in the coming episode of MTV Webbed Season 2. The episode will revolve around one of his obsessed fans, who will be webbed in the world of cyber by people who will misuse her love for her icon, who is Rithvik Dhanjani.

Rithvik says, "When I got to know about the episode and I immediately said yes because I wanted to do it for my fans. I want them to know that there are many in the internet world who want to use their weakness against them. I really love all my fans and would never want anything wrong happening to them."

The story will portray a young girl, who wants to meet her dream man through a concert organised by the star, and a group of miscreants misuse her love and take undue advantage of her by claiming to get her an entry in the concert. "It was heartbreaking to know about such things are happening out there. I would request all my fans to stay away from such people. The episode will definitely help as a learning measure for them and protect them from such future crime," concludes Rithvik. The episode will air on April 18.

guys rithvik was on sbs today. it showed that rithvik and kritika kamra were sitting and discussing about the episode (as anchors) rithvik was wearing a leather jacket.😳

RD said that he knows kritika from long time and kritika told that rithvik is gonna be in the episode too playing himself. the show will move around him and his fan.

the reporter said we and all your fans are eagerly waitng for you and assha to come back. he told that he and asha are here only and they went for an long and amazing holiday. reporter said we are eagerly wwaiting for both (ashvik) of you to come back together on screen again
