I wonder if Ekta brought in Sandeep as a catalyst to speed up the Gauri - Soham love story. Right now Soham is just starting to stutter around Gauri, letting us know that he is starting to like her. However, Soham will probably once again come to Gauri's rescue and save her from Sandeep/ or Soham will get so jealous that he ends up telling Gauri that he loves her/ or something to that effect. That way Ekta can speed up the love story, and soon have her time leap.
