"Wait!" Purvi shrieked, pulling the blanket over herself.
"Purvi," Arjun groaned. "Can we do this after... you-know-what?"
"Yeah, you see there's a problem..."
"Are you not in the mood anymore?"
"No, it's not that. It's just..."
"Then, there's no problem," Arjun persisted leaning over to kiss Purvi.
She felt his warmth on her forehead, slowly trailing down her cheek. When she felt him kiss her neck, Purvi jumped. She looked at him with big, pleading eyes, so Arjun finally let her go.
Arjun reached over for his white button down and started putting it back on him. "You were so excited 25 minutes ago," he mumbled to himself.
Purvi slowly made her way over to Arjun and sat behind him. She wrapped her hands around his neck and rested her head on his back.
Arjun heaved a sigh. "What has gotten into you? You've been acting so strange lately."
"It's all your fault!" she grumbled.
"What'd you say?"
"Nothing," Purvi responded quickly.
Arjun turned around to face Purvi. Wisps of her baby hairs were going in different directions and she looked so shy, scared, and excited all at once. She had the blanket still wrapped around her, covering her silk nightgown. "What do you mean it's my fault?"
"You just had to plan that romantic dinner a few weeks ago, if you didn't then we could have continued what we were going to do," Purvi said in one breath.
"What does the dinner have to do with this?"
"Remember what we did after the dinner?"
"Actually, I don't."
Purvi finally blurted out, "I'M PREGNANT! I think?"
Arjun softened up after he heard how unsure she was. "What do you mean you THINK?"
"Well I don't know if I'm just throwing up from your cooking or from being pregnant."
Arjun scoffed, "my cooking is NOT horrible. I think you're pregnant."
Purvi giggled at his response. "Okay, I'm pregnant."
"You're pregnant. You're pregnant with my child. OUR child," Arjun tried to recollect himself as her looked straight into Purvi's eyes.
She nodded excitedly while putting her hand on top of Arjun's on her stomach. Purvi studied Arjun - this is the most happy she had ever seen him.
"I love you," Arjun simply said, crashing his forehead onto hers. "Thank you."
"Why are you thanking me?" she asked, the smile on her lips not going away.
"For making me a father."
Purvi just grinned, her happiness preventing her for being able to think of a proper response. "I love you too."
