Of course, he did. But then, something more important than his promise came up n he made the choice that the daughter he raised for so long as the sole parent was more important than the daughter he didn't even know existed until he met her a few months prior. Just like purvi broke all the promises she made to Arjun when she made the choice that her mothers happiness was more important than Arjun. I'm sure if you can understand one, you can understand the other even if you like one and not the other?😛Or is it that everybody should permanently be on bended knee before purvi for all the sacrifices she made, whether she asked them before sacrificing or not, and whether those sacrifices make their lives or ruin them? Just coz she does them with only the most noble intentions? Or is it a case of whoever supports purvi upholds promises and is a paragon of fairness? Just like archana is a great mom when she supports purvi even if she doesn't care so much about the other suicidal daughter, but proves the adage "blood is thicker than water" when she doesn't?😕
Dear Sowmya, is this post directed at me or the entire bunch of people that posted on this thread? If at me, of course, Manav stood by his daughter, but standing by his daughter with no admonition or advice is the mark of poor parenting. No one asked him to be a dad to Purvi, he could not be a proper husband for 18 years and has done a bad job of instilling values in both Ovi and Sachin too to some degree. Just asking Manav not to make meaningless promises that he cannot keep.
This post is not about Purvi and Arjun but since you brought them up, Purvi has been hauled over hot coals and worse for not keeping her promise to Arjun though she is not constantly bad mouthing him like Manav is Purvi. I understand that dislike of Purvi would mean disliking anyone being on bended knee in front of her, deservedly or not. But surely that does not warrant keeping her eternally on those hot coals? 😊.
As far as Archana is concerned she is a great mom and if viewers do look askance at her at times at least that is more than is done for Ovi. Ovi's every action is blindly chalked down to her bicharipan. She gets away with murder every single time, unfortunately the rest of the cast are subject to a more stringent touchstone.
