Rather than trying to tell us how wrong we are 😆
I am sure he can can pass a law or two L

Totally agree...

Times have changed and in order to progress we must all be able to make an adapt to some changes. sometimes we may need to question the status quo..

I don't have to troll your threads
I don't know what you are trying to achieve by this post
If it is to tell people who are against Arvi reunion that they are hypocrites, etc then I hope you realize this is a work of fiction 😆
Our behaviour, attitude, etc won't change if you try to speak up against such norms
i don't know about others, I would never want my daughter to be like Purvi, and neither would I ever be in any such situation
I believe in destiny but I do believe everything is Lord's plan
I also know Lord won't take me in any wrong path, neither would he do this to any of my friends
I am not trying to sound prejudice here, because I am hardly 19, my friends have been pregnant since they are 17. In fact I have a niece now, but back then I was living with my aunt in the states.
Is it ONLY Indian society that is against illegitimate children? the ones who taunt their family?
No, there are many other societies
I don't see how you making this thread will bring a change into society
I don't think anyone will even care about what you call them
MODS , how can you even allow such topic

Please stop the bashing and stop bringing Purvi and Arvi into the equation. I simply posted my opinion on why it is necessary to question the status quo. And one last point, this is a valid topic to explore and I am more than entitled to post my views. Many people have died so that people like us can discuss our views, even though they are diametrically opposed. DO NOT attempt to gag me.

😆
pesi di, I think we should ask the TM to go and debate about this in the debate mansion of the forum
please TM
post your thoughts there , as it is more appropriate there
I would LOVE to know most responses there
Oh btw, I have always wanted Pari to get EVERY right and Purvi to get EVERY right she deserves for being Pari's mother
I am not necessarily against unwed pregnancy, but I do understand WHY it happens
In purvi's case, the girl who is always preaching and wanting good
it is beyond me WHY she would keep the baby , and even if she did WHY she would give the baby to Ovi and Arjun WITHOUT THEIR KNOWLEDGE
TM, in another forum there was similar situation
THere was the wife, and there was the kid and kid's mother
Now the man was a married man, but he died, his girlfriend went to his house where he lived with his family and wife
situation brought out the truth and the wife got to know
I am not prejudice , if I were I would never want the girlfriend to live in that house 😆
I believe an offspring has more rights than the wife
and in that forum, I was bashed for saying that the girlfriend should live in that house
there were 7 pages of debate there
I was probably the ONLY person thinking that way
Pari has more rights than Ovi , and there is no denying that
In fact, I am mad at Arjun for giving up Pari and making it sound like he gave Pari up for ovi
which he didnt and neither should Ovi think like that
It doesn't matter whether she was conceived before or after marriage
The fact is she is Arjun's child and no one can deny that 😆
but these customs or ideas you are talking about are existing and will continue to exist
making a post here won't solve anything for you
or us
so please mods take care of such posts 😲

However, I have and always will continue to point to those parts of Indian culture that are wrong IN MY VIEW, such as infanticide, sex-selection abortions, child marriages, marital rapes, beatings, dowries and other patriarchal practices and double standards imposed upon women. Only by debating and challenging tradition can we change it, otherwise widows would still be thrown on the funeral pyres of their husband's today. This does not mean bashing one's culture! If you want to engage in a sensible debate, please do, but do not make this a Ovi verses Purvi battleground.

The question has been asked as to what is the point of posting the above message? Do I really need to explain?😆

Lovely post Mannisha.Havent posted outside of the forum for a while but this thread has caught my eye.
As an Indian living away India i am always intrigued when i read articles and stories of past traditions of infanticide, marital rapes, childhood marriages etc etc.Yes they have been a part of the history of the Indian culture but with time they have changed but still occurs in parts of the world even today.
In this modern civilisation where traditions are challenged and there is also the generation gap.
Divergent views held by the younger generation versus the old.Just because some norms are called traditions doesnt make them right. We live in a world where they are teenage pregnancies, unwed pregnancies, pre martial sex etc etc.We would be kidding ourselves if we chose to ignore them or pretend that those incidents dont occur.
As much as the world is changing and adapting to the 21st century women carried that burden of always having to suffer if there make any mistake or if they were victims of injustice. There is still that stigma that everything they do is always their fault. They are some women who have even been brought up to believe that their husbands are their God.I would like to differ on that.We are human and are far from perfect.Mistakes happen but what can we do?We can either continue to make those horrible choices or simply move on and make the best we can with our lives. One mistake cant ruin our future or happiness.
In order to progress there need to be changes in societal norms.People are taunted if they break traditions but does that mean they should suffer for the rest of their lives??
Challenging an issue doesnt mean you are bashing it. It simply means you are vocal enough to air you perceptions and outlook on it.
