Perhaps the only EK show I truly liked. It was sort of youthful but family-oriented unlike much of today's youth shows. The only thing that I didn't like was the marital rape arc where Pratham raped Gauri. I don't think I can ever forgive the character of Pratham for that but Hiten was excellent in portraying Pratham's guilt and shame after the incident happened. And Hiten and Gauri- ! They kept me hooked to the screen as Pratham and Gauri. It was a short show and didn't stretch like her other shows but there was also a season 2. In my opinion, season 1 was far better than season 2. Plus the character of Pratham has become such an iconic character, even after all of these years!

Soham is a good looking guy and he deserves at least a kind respectful girl. Even when he was a goon, the love, respect, and admiration he had for his mother was admirable. And now that he's changed a bit, doesn't he deserve a girl who's not like Gauri?

I can't stand Gauri. I saw Friday's episode yesterday and I just wanted her to shut up. She is a total Purvi. It's watching Gauri now that I realize how awful Purvi was in the beginning even though I used to like her back then. Purvi has just become worse with time and if Gauri stays long in this show, she will become Purvi 2 and that's much worse than being an Archana 2. Also, I noticed that the BG music (I don't know how to describe, but when I hear it all I can think of is takraar) during Gauri and Soham's spat with each other in Friday's episode was the same one that used to play for Arjun and Purvi when they were at loggerheads with each other before they fell in love. So it cements it that this annoying clone of Purvi will be Soham's dream girl. Soham, run for your life!

Guys u have made me curious about Kutumb. Is it possible to see it online ?

I never liked Purvi in the Arjun Purvi fight , i was totally on Arjun's side then and still am . She was oversmart , arrogant and bossy and a blot on any professional female . He was ok . I felt rather sorry for him .

Lol. Me and my sporadic appearances.😆 Missed you too! (How could I forget to reply to the first part?😡)Kool Di, I am not sure what network Kutumb was on, but a few of the current channels have begun to place their old shows on their YT (YouTube😳)channel. If not, perhaps some kind fan was able to upload a few episodes to YT(do I have to spell it out again?) Anyway, my curiousity has been piqued, and now that my current show is ending and my exams are going to be over with next week, I would love to catch up on old shows that were nice.

Kool Di, you never fail to make me laugh , I mean I laughed so much my poor cat got scared !
I skip Gauri and Soham's scenes , I adore Soham but I can't stand Gauri. Isn't 1 Purvi enough ? Why are they forcing another Purvi on us ? LOL
Manav and Arjun's conversation stole the show today. Hiten still remains the best actor of this decade , he is not one show star and I am glad to have been his fan for all these years. My only complain is he is too loyal to Ekta but I guess he is right from his viewpoint.
I never watched Kutumb but I watched so many other shows of Hiten , he at least made one cameo of played one role in past ekta shows . I can hardly find a show where he didn't act :/

It's a love story but unlike EK's other love stories, it didn't have the usual trappings which is probably why it was so popular. No plastic surgeries, punar janams, lots of marriages, etc. Plus the parallel tracks were very nice as well .That's where I first saw Sakshi Tanwar as well and she was so young, but she was a figment of her husband's imagination because she was dead and aside from Pratham-Gauri, it was Maya (Sakshi Tanwar) and her husband's story that I liked a lot.

I think SONY has uploaded all of the episodes on YT. Check season 1 or just Kutumb episode 1.

Gauri is just like Purvi now. Oversmart, bossy, arrogant! It's no wonder they clicked with each other and when Archana wakes up from her coma, she will treasure Gauri as she does Purvi. There will be no love for Teju, Ovi, or Sachin's wife .

Khusum! I have watched it! But oh my it was so awful, one of EK's shows that ran for quite a few years, I think about three or four, I lost count.

I think SONY uploaded all the episodes as well! I found episode 1 and 2, I think there are more.

But beware, that show is mind-numbing like PR eventually is now.

I never liked purvi when she first came or now...I loved Arjun until he fell for purvi and rest is history.

As a working woman Purvi was the most unprofessional teenager one can find...😡

Nina thanks for sharing the part abt Pratham raping Gauri...I never could understand why she hated him so much...Why they disliked each other...As I had missed the beginning part of Kutumb...

I liked the first season but not second..

On today's episode I really don't have anything to say, because if I say Arjun does not love neither Ovi nor Purvi, I am deemed wrong.

If love is about a woman giving up her love for her Mother, by making him marry and consummate her daughter, even though she was not asked for that much, and that love chooses to consummate with his wife, get her pregnant, and even after he is given walking papers, attempts to stay in the marriage, whether the attempt is feeble or not, and that is considered love, then more power to the cvs and those who believe in that love.

I want to focus on other characters in this show. I want to seem some other storylines with Ovi and her new flame, and her career.

I want the cvs to burn the idea of making Gauri, Soham love interest, he deserves better.

I don't care to see Teju she is a deadbeat twin sister.

Sachin I long to see, but couldn't they have kept the old Sachin, I am still not getting used to this one.

I want to see the acting of the new Archana...Ankita wish you all the best in a better show somewhere.

I want anything but to see Arjun and Purvi faces on my tv screen..Please Cvs I can't take anymore, spare me, reunite, kill them off anything but please move them right along, I am sooo tired of them...sooo..tired of the love triangle.

Spare me Ekta Mata please!!!!!!!!!

I will go on Hunger Strike so you can take them off my screen. I want back Archana and Manav romance, anything is better than this right now..

Please Spare me Ekta...Please Spare me...😭

Varsha you watched Kutumb? Pratham and Gauri hated each other from the very beginning, since they first met. I think it was because Gauri thought Pratham was a playboy, no care in the world and out to break girl's hearts. Plus one of her friend's I think tried to commit suicide because of Pratham, so her hatred grew further.
