My dears,

I am perennially puzzled by this line of thought.

Please tell me one thing. Are Rithvik and Asha professional actors or are they boyfriend and girlfriend who want only to be together on screen and off screen?

If it is the former, then, if they cannot make love scenes with other actors convincing, then they are never going to get anywhere. They surely cannot expect to be cast together all the time, can they? In films, at time actors and actresses have to be convincing in romantic scenes with people they actively detest, and they do it.

So should it be with Asha and Rithvik now, and at least I do not think there is any reason for Asha to actively dislike Shakti. And if she cannot do it, all that it means is that she is not a competent and reliable actress, and soon she will have no takers. There is no shortage of bright young things in the TV industry.

If it is the latter, then I would agree with those who feel that they should move to another profession. No aspiring actor can afford to have it thought that he or she is comfortable only with one person. That kind of rumour, if it gets around, will spell doom for their budding careers.

I like both Rithvik and Asha a lot, even if I think he is the better actor of the two (I cannot stand the irritating baby voice her Purvi always uses when trying to be chirpy; it was the same with Arjun earlier and it is the same with Onir now), and I would like them to get another really good show where they will be the main leads. But for that to happen, they have to prove their professionalism now by delivering whatever they are asked to deliver, and with competence and enthusiasm.

Just look at Ankita and her scenes with Hiten. Though her real life boyfriend Sushant had left, she still gave the post leap Archana her best shot, and she looked perfectly at ease with the replacement. That is true blue professionalism.

I am sure all of you adore Rithvik and Asha, but you are doing them a disservice by floating such ideas and insisting that they are true. The reputation for non-professionalism that will be created by such reports that Asha is 'bitching' about her scenes with Shakti, can only hurt her standing, not only with Balaji but with other production houses as well, who cannot be expected to take on an actress who 'bitches' when she is cast opposite anyone but Rithvik. This is not a prom night, it is a highly competitive industry, and they are just starting out in it.

After all, neither of them is Ronit Roy or Sakshi Tanwar to be able to call the shots, and in any case, such big shots too would never betray such a lack of professionalism.

So, if you really care for the future of these two bright and charming young actors, as I do, you might like to keep the above in mind.

Exactly.. So when I watch Purvi Onir scenes I feel asha is being forced to act all lovey dovey with him.. I bet RD and Ashu must be talking about how much they dislike these scenes when they are hanging out.. Lols like I would if I were asha.. I would be bitching about these scenes that I am forced to do...

I like AshVik , a LOT.
RD being a favorite actor of mine.

But, to me I think they should be able to deliver what the story demands and show a chemistry with several actors as they cannot and rather will not get to work opposite each other all the time. Its too OTT.

To me RD, has a great chemistry with Asha as well as Shruti (not romantically) and if given Ovi was his Love interest I am sure they would have worked for me too.
Same for Asha.

So as actors I understand that they should have good chemistry with all their co-stars.
As an ArVian only I feel a little bad.

My dear Boni,

You have hit the nail squarely on the head. His name, believe it or not, was Himalaya! She ruined what could have been a very successful career, and what does she do now? She is doing odd episodes on TV, looking almost the same as she was 22 years ago. What a pity!

As for Asha, I am absolutely sure she would not want such reports about her floating around and getting her into trouble with Balaji. If they accuse her of having been behind these reports, she will never be able to prove she was not, for one cannot prove a negative. I just wish her fans would be a bit more circumspect, that is all.

As for acting very convincingly with those you detest, Vyjayanthimala was reportedly not even on talking terms with Dilip Kumar while doing the very good historical, Sunghursh, with him, but you would never guess that from their love scenes together.

This said, I am very pleased to see your eminently sensible and logical reaction; it restores my faith in the good sense of the younger generation!

By the way, my dear, what is your actual name, if you do not mind it?

Shyamala Aunty
