Remember this?

Among the plethora of channels and shows on TV, some of them stand out. In fact, certain scenes are still etched in our memory, either because of the way they were shot, their interesting plots or simply because of the performances. We have picked up a few that were compelling enough to make it to the list...

Kshama Rao

The 'Manav-Archana- wedding in Pavitra Rishta
Though there have been many weddings done in style on TV this one truly looked real with Archana and Manav, one of the best looking and most-loved couples looking every inch the var and the vadhu. Done in a typically Maharashtrian style, the wedding was shot lavishly at RK Studios with the channel inviting viewers to be part of the spectacle. There was the mandatory naach gaana and most importantly, the dcor, the ambience, the costumes, everything reminded of a real Maharashtrian wedding. That Archana Lokhande and Sushant Singh Rajput, a real-life couple looked perfect as the reel bride and groom added to the whole charm.

I can never forget the whole ArMan wedding.. I was so much in love with PR at that time- the characters, the plot, the setting- everything was perfect! Even the offscreen segments related to the wedding where so enjoyable- Sushant and Ankita weren't Sushita at that time, they used to bicker and for the viewers it was so much fun! Sushant looked so handsome and Ankita sooo gorgeous in the wedding sequences! Perfect Maharashtrian bride, if I was a guy I would be in love with her, lol.
Hayyye mere pyaare ArMan! <3

Waise something unique about this marriage was that it was a one take marriage/shoot- cos viewers had been invited to the wedding from different parts of India, so to make it look like a real wedding it was shot at one go. Later some parts of the marriage was re-shot.

Shocking: Actors married off for real in Balaji Show!

July 30th, 2009 - 4:40 pm ICT by sampurn -

Recently a grand wedding with much fanfare took place in the Balaji show Pavitra Rishta. Archana (Ankita) and Manav (Sushant) tied the knot in-front of many people, but to the absolute horror of the duo, the shaadi turned out to be real. As per the eye witness from the sets, "The mantras that the pundit was chanting, was for real.
For that matter, the mangalsutra and the pheres were authentic! After knowing this, the duo (Ankita and Sushant) were shocked and horrified. They went to the Balaji production team and asked them to undo the marriage.
" When we called up Sushant Singh Rajput to confirm the news, he stated, "Yes, the mangalsutra was real, but when I was tying it on Ankita, I ensured that it was flipped backwards." We informed him of the well-known Maharashtrian wedding tradition, wherein the mangalsutra is intentionally flipped backward and is then worn. Sushant, for a minute was at a loss for words, then he cried out, "But I did not take the saat phere with her. It was just six and a half!"
On other hand Ankita conversed, "Yes the marriage sequence was shot in one go, but after that we had retakes and in whole process we took over 32 pheres. So I don't think the marriage holds any validity, and even if it was real then, after taking so many pheres the shaadi has been automatically annulled."
"Well I think you should ask my creative of why they got us married for real," chirps the actress.
We contacted Sukriti, Creative Head of the show. "Those mantra and mangalsutra was not real at all. I don't think this shaadi is for real, as the jodi Archana-Manav took just 6 pheres," she clarifies.
Well now, whose version is more close to truth is not clear, as all three have their own say on the matter. But it would be quite interesting to see if Archana and Manav are termed married in real with their reel shaadi.

Aww how can we forget this? It was a dream marriage for our mechanic Manav. But the sad thing was like all marriages and parties in PR there was a tamasha too. Sulo did a great tamasha. But apart from that part it was a memorable part of PR. And thanx niki di for posting that article. I read it earlier but it feels very good to read some articles again and again. And you see that marriage was a real indeed. I think That marriage gives us Sushita as a real life couple.

@blue: You know, even though there was a tamasha in that wedding, yet it was one which totally got full points from me and most of the audience as well. I think most people were looking forward to that twist in the story when Sulo and her whole family come to know that the guy to whom she has got her darling daughter married was not a prince charming or a blessing by Bappa but actually a doormat given by destiny. It was the crux of the story, and the whole story from then on was supposed to be about how this 'doormat' succeeds in proving himself as a wonderful husband to Archana and manages to win his heart. It was a tamasha but a much awaited one and personally a very satisfying one for me, cos after that we got so many well written and enacted scenes!
I still remember the one scene when Savita and Sulochana, after their HUGE showdown at the wedding (which was FAB by the way👏) turn away, Savita drags Manav out of the wedding hall. Manav looks back again and again at a weeping Archana, as if saying, please say something once, please stop me, please say you are not angry, give me a chance to explain😭. It was heart touching and so good! Ah I can never forget that scene!👏 And then the one after that when Sulo comes home and shouts at Ganpati Bappa saying I've always worshipped you and kept faith in you but you have done THIS with my daughter! (and all the while only we the viewers and Ganpati Bappa know that Manav is actually the one who will keep her daughter most happy!) Another very very powerful scene and so well enacted by Savita Prabhune!
Ahhh jaane kahan gaye woh din? Dil ke ArMan aasoo-on mein beh gaye..😭😆
