Shyamala, wanted to add, you remembered the Gita and Krishna's words, I was reminded of Yudishtra's "ashwathama hatha kunjarah."

Yes, Janhvi, and Lord Krishna blew his conch just when Yudhistira was whispering kunjaraha to salve his conscience, so as to drown out even that hesitant whisper.

At once, the wheels of Yudhishtira's chariot, which were always a few inches above the ground as tribute to his elevated moral stature, came plonk! down into the mud of the battlefield. Of course nothing happened to Arjuna's chariot or to his Parthasarathi. God has his own privileges!

Thank you. Whom else can I depend on to cap my tales!

Janhvi, that is just it, she does not seem to be a doer at all any more.

The old Purvi would have hotfooted it to the police station by herself, done something at once to reassure Onir, and as soon as Sachin (he must have broken some naariyal to Bappa for having got some lines to deliver, at lo...ong last!) landed up there, she would have confabulated with him and planned a future course of action. She is not a shy, inexperienced Bong housewife, she is, or rather was, a firebrand professional, who got Arjun out on bail in the body in the boot case. So why not now?

Instead she lurks in the bedroom, emerges to weep all over Manav's shirtfront, and then hangs on to the verandah railing and waits for Onir to return, like the heroine of an 18th century romance. And look at what she does once she has finished weeping all over Onir.

She does not open her mouth to defend him in front of Manju. Well, let that pass, for all she could have said was that Onir could not possibly have done any of the things he was accused of, in effect repeating what she had said to Arjun on the verandah earlier. There was nothing she could have usefully said about Mittal, for she does not know anything, since Onir has not had time to talk to her about it as he is shown planning to do.

Not that it would have made any difference to the tirade unleashed by Manju who is, on such occasions, second only to the non-Sudhri hui Savita, (to quote Kools) in sheer ferocity and lung power. Moreover, since Manju mami is one of Purvi's anointed parivaar (!), she is probably inhibited in talking back to her.

But then, in all her frantic discussions later with Onir in their bedroom, interspersed with voluble expressions of near panic about what would happen to Arjun and Ovi if the truth came out, not once does Purvi do either of the following:

- express regret at her having forced Onir to swap the babies and thus created this very sticky situation. Not only does she not say Mujhse bahut badi bhool ho gayi, Onir, aur uska nateeja aapko bhugatna pad raha hai, but she does not even seem to
think in passing that she was wrong. In fact she behaves as though it was a joint decision, or even one taken by him. This is buck passing on a grand scale, and shows a remarkable talent for revisionist thinking. The Purvi of old would never have done anything remotely like this.

-
worry about what would happen to ONIR if the truth came out, what would be the fallout for his career and his hitherto spotless reputation. No, she goes on and on moaning about her family - which, to an uninformed outside observer, would not seem to include him.

Nor is there any sign of any distress at Onir's having been hauled off to jail and having a very serious organ trafficking charge hanging over his head, or about what he might have to face in court. It is all What will happen to Arjun and Ovi if the truth comes out... We should have told the truth to the family. We??

I was strongly tempted to sock her one in the solar plexus. And him as well. He does try, but far too gently, to remind her that these things should have been thought of before the switch was made, but his focus, perhaps rightly, is on preventing her from panicking and betraying herself, and making matters worse all around. So he keeps telling her she has to be strong.

As for his lacking street smarts, Lord Krishna would have despaired of him as a chela.
When Mittal is asking him for whether or not he switched the babies, he is simply unable to tell a direct lie, whereas most others in his position would have bluffed their way thru with a straight face. He is a simple chap, who has led an uncomplicated and blameless, indeed virtuous life so far, till fate placed him in Purvi's path. Phir to jo hona tha wahi hua, aur ab to na man ka chain hai na dil ka sukoon. 😉

As for her, she reminded me of nothing so much as one of the film heroines of the 1960s, standing around weeping and wringing her hands while her lover did all the heavy lifting (most often 15 minutes slugging matches with the villain). Purvi seems nowadays to exist only so that Onir can look after her, and this irritates me acutely. Why can the CVs not remember that the old Purvi was so popular precisely because she was NOT an abla naari?

Janhvi, she seems to have gone to seed, and looks washed out. Nothing suits her these days, not that bulky Bengali sari, which makes her look as though she is going to have a baby all over again, nor an endlessly lachrymose countenance. She looks haggard and weary, and I feel even more weary after half an hour of looking at her.

So,
I have no great hopes of the kind of miraculous transformation you look forward to, which is of course exactly what the doctor ordered. When she said chodoongi nahin, my hopes surged, but the bedroom conversation that followed extinguished them totally. I only hope it does not get any worse.

Shyamala, glad you liked the crack, deep bow ;) I wrote that last post in haste, on my phone, need to go correct the atrocious writing :) but it would be fun if they played merry go round with the DNA testing. There would be some levity to look forward to instead of this constant moroseness :(

Even the frames look darker, and you are right, Onir is too kaccha, no street smartness, zero, zilch!! :( He is way out of his league with a shark like Mittal, combine that with a pemanent spy (Punni) and Onir is done for! Hope Purvi comes out of her lethargic zombie state and makes good on her promise to Arjun "choddoongi nahin" whoever has cast aspersions on her saintly do good husband.

Come on, Purvi, this is a clarion call to you, snap out, cast off those cumbersome saris, return to those old faded chudidhars that infused so much fire in you! Silence that Punni tai of yours and her crook husband!
You have to save Soham dada, reform dear Ovi to a permanent state of good, return Arjun to some semblance of happiness, get your Aai out of her coma, and very little time! Purvi, you have promises to keep and miles to go before you sleep!

what she will silence Punni Tayi and her crook husband when she herself has done questionable things perhaps even more worse than Punni Tayi . Didn't u see her face and hear her words that she is badly scared . Just discarding saris and wearing clothes like before cannot infuse fire in a personality ...for that the character must be clean as the fire comes from there . There is a big difference in the way she was introduced and the way she is now ...the character has come a long way and done many wrong things in the process .

So true Kool, no amount of makeup can hide a deep rooted scar, what the character of Purvi has undergone, nothing really can wash it...in fact, what Arvi has become - a broken glass with cracks visible that never can be fixed nor ignore...my POV of course...

The rest is fine, Kools, but "perhaps even more worse than Punni Tayi "? You do not really mean that.

Whatever egregious follies Purvi might have committed because of her misplaced loyalties and priorities and her smug do-gooding, plus her readiness to endlessly exploit those who love her unconditionally - and I have criticised her very harshly for all these failings - she is no Punni. Punni is a heartless, scheming, wicked wretch, who exults in wreaking mayhem in the life of anyone at all for its own sake, and this whether she stands to gain anything from it or not. If she had a colour, it would be inky black.

There is no way can Purvi be equated with her, any more than Onir, with all his idiocies and serious mistakes, can be equated with the slimy rattlesnake Mittal (any self respecting rattlesnake would be ready to bite me for this comparison, which it would rightly take as a grave insult!😉)Punni and Mittal are one of a kind, and if there ever was a truly made for each other jodi, theirs would be IT.

If it was a double switch... then why is there no video of Onir doing the first switch? Well that's how the serial goes... anything is possible. And it doesn't have to be logical... lol

Shyamala, had to laugh out loud at the poor rattle snake taking offense at being compared to the sleazy Mr. Mittal. Indeed, Punni and Mr. Mittal are made for each other. If these two join forces, heaven help the rest of PR. United they are a force to be reckoned with, pitted against each other, the others have a chance.

remember they were going back in watching...they went to -23 hours, before that at -24hours first switching must have happened...

it will be good if the swapping done 2 times...onir couldn't take baby loss so he might have thought mishti cannot take it, so he did first swapping, then as he thought purvi gaveup baby, so purvi can still think her baby is alive and ovi can have the baby...otherwise why to keep purvi's fullterm baby in incubator...
